Well call it "luck", call it corrupt, call it as the bus drivers masterclass in how to motivate shite! But the prem has got what it has craved for, the scum and dippers at the top of the table they are not going to allow this money spinning situation to change if it can be avoided, will be interesting to see how we get reffed now.

Thing is the premier league might have got what it wants, but its got it in a middle of an out of control pandemic when most fans couldnt give a shit about football.
My phone has never been so quiet about football, my spurs, Chelsea, arsenal etc mates we havent texted each other about football for ages. Our texts are about how are you feeling etc family safe ?.
We never mentioned football. I even saw my spurs mate yesterday and we didnt even mention football not even the league cup final.
In fact the only football thing we mention was how had Merseyside police allowed the scousers to break the guidelines again at the Marine match. Just the normal slacking off of the scousers being above the law ! And their police force to scared to do anything. And that chat was about the pandemic and not football.

The teams they have played so far? After playing 17 of them? There’s only 2 left!
They have played all the big teams at home not away for a start
It also happens that they have to play Liverpool twice plus an fa cup game, which I am constantly told is their biggest game of the season
Don’t forget Thursdays nights in Europe as well

Crazy they are top. If not for dubious penalties they'd be around 8th!

Poorest team to top the league for years. Still, that's the benchmark we have to beat so let's get 3 points tonight.

If they are somehow still in the mix by March then I don't think their mentality will help them at all in the run in.

They haven’t beaten a single one of the big teams so far. They are flat track bullies, having to go away to some of these teams in the second part of the season it will unravel for them with the cowards football they play.

Well it took about 5 minutes last night before one of them crawled out of the woodwork and posted "back where we belong" on their FB timeline. Make no mistake, neither us, Liverpool or anyone else are winning this league simply by being 'a bit' better than the rags. When they're struggling Lady Luck, in various ways, is coming to their rescue and they're gaining momentum from it as it did with Liverpool. We're going to have to be at our very best again and destroy these fuckers.

Its so cute how they think they have a chance of actually winning.
I think they actually do. It’s not that they are good enough, it’s the help they get and their style of play. They play counter and only need one lucky ball over the top to create a decent chance, we play possession and EVERYONE just defends against us. It’s harder for us to score than the rags by the way we play, all we need is to be slightly off pace or unlucky for a result to go against us, where as they play percentages and can Fluke something (as well as the help from the refs). So yes they have a chance, I don’t like it but they do

Write these lot off at your peril! We all thought Leicester would fall away but they won it. They have an extra leg up now with VAR working for them in their favour. They play absolute dog turd football but it's effective. They are more than happy to be ultra direct and nick games 1 nil. Bit like the season Mourinho had at Chelsea. Not easy on the eye but it got them over the line.

Decided to do a little bit of research. Easiest way is to reference my own tweet here with the images, sorry:

The reason they're top is quite simply because City/Liverpool have dropped their standards. With 13 points after 17 games they'd be the following in other years:

19/20 - 13 points off the top in 3rd
18/19 - 9 points off the top in 5th
17/18 - 13 points off the top in 3rd
16/17 - 7 points off the top in 4th.

They've got a long way to go and I genuinely think that if City and/or Liverpool pick up anything even remotely close to their old form they'll stroll ahead of United.
