Villa (H) Post Match Thread

I have to say, I thought Grealish was pretty outstanding. Clearly a few attitude issues there but what are people's thoughts?
good player but because he's better than most of his team mates everything goes through him

put him in a team where there are several players equally as skilful and he has to do a bit more than fall over close to or inside the box then he wouldn't be starting every game

We could have lost that game cos Villa had their moments. They are a good side but we could have scored a barrowful of goals by the same token.

Well played VIlla. Even better played City.
How could we have lost, they didn’t score a goal!

They were performing the 'dark arts' very early into the game and I thought Grealish was leading on that. I slightly thing the opposite in that he needs opportunity.

I thought he tried his best to provide a very disruptive role a la Ferdy, on top of doing a few neat passes. Let's be honest here, Stone and Dias were scarily good again. Villa had plenty of opportunities.
You were watching a different game to me , "plenty " of opportunities , i can count them one hand and i dont think Grealish created any of them. Watkins and Traore had their moments and Barkley had a couple of tame shots and that was it , 8-2 would have been a fair score on decent chances created.

Those two still frames actually sum up the point I’m trying to make. That the ground he’s made up ‘should’ constitute interfering with play.

Either way it’s a very intelligent move from Rodri to wait for that precise moment to challenge for the ball.
At what point could Rodri become onside again? No problem if you want to leave the question you have had a bit of a pile on but just wondering how you would want to see a change to the rule?

In any event a cracking game with lots of great city play followed by terrific villa defending. Loved to see so many city players dribbling past players. First 20 minutes we looked like we really wanted to humiliate them. Nice to see some swagger

Villa fans crying all over social media, accusing us of payrolling officials, and suggesting the PL does everything to favour the big clubs.. maybe should remember that if it wasn’t for goaline technology having a brain fart at Sheff U last season, they would now be in the championship
Have you not made your personal contribution to the officials yet?

(78 minutes) Villa’s energy levels have not been affected at all by the 3 week Covid layoff, they have been absolutely magnificent.

(80 minutes) The rustiness from an enforced 3 week Covid layoff is showing now and that goal was so so cruel on them but not unexpected after the adversity they have endured.

The Broadheath Baresi Danny Higinbotham sound like his dog has just been put down.Take it ,Take it ,Take it
They seem to have forgotten just how many of our players have been affected by COVID

They spent most of last decade telling us we weren’t a big club.

Make your minds up you Brummie idiots.

No it isn't mate. The phase was clearly over as Mings had cracked on and was doing his look how cultured a CB I am thing.
Er..you are agreeing with me that the phase was over....I said the decision was correct.

In my opinion Barkley was non existant, as was Traore apart from 10 seconds in the first half? I suppose we will beg to differ :)
