I played left back at Sunday league level for 3 years.

I honestly reckon I’d pocket Mahrez.

Just close him down and don’t commit. He’s too chicken to try anything. Force the good players to deserve the right to beat you. And then just wait for the moment when they lose control slightly (there is almost always a point) and move on that.
Alternatively just enjoy the shut down when they choose not to take the risk.
