Exactly. It’s the classic case of the FA Cup underdog. Like the media are going to praise us for beating a side in League Two. Cheltenham deserve all the credit they’re getting, it’s their big day, not ours.
I haven't seen a blue on here complaining about Cheltenham or the plucky underdog thing. If they had gone on to win it I think every blue would have congratulated them. They played good football, worked very hard, didn't try to kick us off the park and scored a good goal. We are not asking for praise for beating them either.
We are just sick of a rag/dipper love in and the snidey remarks that are always thrown at us.

I don't mind a bit bias from pundits.
Micah openly admits his bias to us. He tends to overcompensate the other way at the moment. But i imagine that is to ingratiate himself to get regular work.

It's the agenda towards us i have have a problem with. Repeated misinformation. The inability to praise good football because of hatred. Imagine the constant headlines if Foden was a rag.

Roy Keane hates us. He hates the money that has come into our team. However, i've never heard him say anything that i don't believe is his true opinion. So even if i don't agree, i respect that is what he believes. He is more than willing to have a pop at the rags. He just calls it as he sees it.

You could include Neville as the above. Every nice thing he says about us is an act though. We all know it must kill him to say it. He tends to stick to the facts. If we are playing well he says so. If we are poor, he will say that. The difference with Neville is that he is only being professional, and i have no problem with that.

The difference in money between teams only ever used to be mentioned if you got beat.
I think that is fair enough, as it shows how good the underdog was to win etc.

However, it is now used as a stick to beat us with. It is brought up before/during and after a match.
The media bias shows up, as it is rarely mentioned for teams in red.
When we constantly hear Magliar referred to as the world's most expensive defender (including fee amount) before/during and after a match i will apologize for all the above...

I’ve tried to bin Sky Sports off. Can’t do it online it says to phone. I phone and get an automated message. I tell them to bin Sports. Anyone know if this actually works?
Not a chance, you have talk to them. That said they're surprisingly easy to get through to during the last year. Try getting through to Virgin(let alone getting someone who understands how to do their job) to see the difference.

BBC set there marker down regarding money comparison with our game Chelsea spent 200+m in the summer and have a 80m player who has been shite so let’s see hey if they carry this on.

Avoided fa cup shock, escaped losing - anything to avoid the words win or won it seems.
19 shots on goal to their 4, I only watched it this morning as I was working (avoided the score successfully for a change) and I keep having to check online that we did win given some of the rhetoric.

Kudos to Cheltenham but lord some people get carried away.

He’s not saying that mate though. The narrative was reasonable overall - and expected. The money references were OTT, because it is/was more than those two clubs would be subject to, but otherwise it’s been acceptable overall imo - given the gap between the two clubs.

There are things to get far more worked up about the media’s coverage than in relation to yesterday’s game.
I am not getting worked up gdm, but it’s fair to say that when our equaliser is greeted with “no flag” rather than a comment about the goal that tells you all that you need to know. Scum and dippers NEVER get that kind of reaction

I found it funny after City v Villa just how many well paid pundits, ex international and top ex players didnt know the off-side rule.
It shown them up as not being professional by insisting the goal was off side. Even an ex ref who is employed by them didnt know the off-side rule.
If i was top dog in one of those tv companies i would be wanting to know who employed them, why have we employed an ex pro's who dont know the basic off-rule and is making my company look stupid for employing someone like that. I would be going mad if i was sat at home as chairman of bt or whoever and saw the experts that i employ dont know the off-side law, i would fire them, embarrassing.

Football pundits, its more like a group of mates sitting in a pub chatting, easy money. Where is the professionalism, why werent they questioning why a manager and his players dont know the rules ? That should have been the main focus. The fact that City players knew the rule yet City are made out to be the bad guys for playing the game within the rules ! you couldnt make it up.
City players should have been praised by the ex pro's for knowing the rules and Villa mocked for not knowing the rules. But because the pundits dont know the rules either thats all blame City. Mings made a huge mistake because he doesnt know the rules that is embarrassing for a professional footballer.

The fact the ex pro's backed Villa just shows their lack of knowledge on a sport their are well paid to chat about. They didnt know the rules of football , shock , horror. They made themselves look stupid, but never mind they will all be back on tv talking their usual shit again.

Lineker mentioned it twice in the first 90 seconds of the coverage, 1st saying most expensive squad and then one players weekly wages is more than Cheltenham. Previous round, Utd v Watford or as mentioned Marine v Spurs, not a single mention.
Wonder how many player salaries for Cheltenham could be covered by the waste of money the BBC pays the MOTD presenters
It was reported Alan Hanson was on 44 grand a program plus a black cab both ways from his Cheshire home

I wouldnt have begrudged them a win. Ive felt total jubilation at a football match and i wouldnt begrudge a team like cheltenham that experience

You want to read some of the very justifiable criticism before trotting out the usual clichés? The old one being fanny wipes and the new one being we have a persecution complex.

We are talking about very well paid so called professional sportsman and journalists making glaring errors. One saying their captain inspired them to victory when it was an almost victory. The other, although I haven't seen this one, saying they led in the game for 80 minutes when they didn't, they led for just over 20 minutes.

Given the absolute shit we have to put up with from the media I'd say we have a right to be a little touchy. Also not one single person I have read in a thread on here after the game had anything but praise for Cheltenham and we're quite happy for the media to do the same.

Oh here's another one for you. The constant referencing at the cost of our players in comparison to theirs and almost every other team we play, when other expensively assembled squads don't get the same treatment.

Now I'll go and use a wipe again.
You need a jumbo pack of femme fresh pal

get over it and enjoy being a blue rather mithering about what every fucker is or is t saying about us.

What has driven me almost to the point of insanity is how many "experts " will say "got the ball first" when in fact if the ball is not knocked out of playing distance then it is a foul

That does not mean we should be subject to a constant load of negative shite from the media nearly all the time.
Sometimes l wonder if your surname is Rashford with the negativity of many of your posts.
Not sure im being negative at all ‘mike’. Im merely observing that we shouldnt be so touchy as a fan base. Yeah the media seem to do a job on us weekly. So what? Only one way to shut em up. And we know what that is. And if it doesnt shut em up ... so what? Will we care ?
Positive enough mickey?

No chance I'll call out the fuckers everytime they get a snide dig in or give us unfair treatment.

You need to follow your own advice and stop fretting what fellow Blues are saying about the media.

Reading the TV guide just now.

" there's the chance of a giant killing as big spending Chelsea take on championship strugglers Luton Town at Stamford Bridge"
