Boris promising again , downing street have clarified they will look at the data by mid feb not they are looking to relax restrictions in mid feb

Good - we have to live at some point - he would get criticised for not giving an indication. He is an upbeat man and saying if we keep driving it down and do well with the vaccines he will look at things. Seems fair enough to me.

Had my first jab Saturday at Davyhulme Medical Centre.
Each car met by a smiling steward ( kin'ell) making sure the occupants were able to exit and walk to the entrance on their own and if necessary assist them. Car park very busy but lots of stewards to keep things moving. Inside, the attitudes were exactly the same, friendly sympathetic and helpful. When I asked the doc who organised the whole thing, she said it was all a local operation, and i expressed my admiration that such a random group could be so brilliant.
Over the years, public events involving the public, have seen the HI-vis clad stewards reach the bottom of the pile in many peoples estimation, which explains my surprise at the experience.

Now that others are regularly posting the numbers from the nations daily from off Twitter (I assume by the birdie symbol) I am going to stop posting daily updates on the week to week national comparisons in here as there is no point in my duplicating this.

Not at all complaining about those who are doing this or asking them to stop, I really want to stress. It's perfectly fine by me if they want to carry on. Just no point in repetition.

And I have no problem at all with redundancy from this job. Indeed the sooner the better.

He's not particularly someone I'm a fan of but he's not helped by the media trying to make a story and create conflict.

This morning the 10 mins of BBC news I saw they were pushing schools opening and why were no dates for this yet available.

I always liken it to being at the airport and your flight can't take off as it's foggy......media prod people who moan they're not being kept updated/not given any news. It's foggy, nobody knows when the fog will lift but, when it does there'll be some news.

The media have a lot to answer for.

Nicola Sturgeon by the way said that they have now vaccinated 95% of residents at care homes and front line health care staff. Which is very hopeful. And they are seeing tentative signs of progress with hospital data suggesting they might be getting on top of things.

The Welsh Weekly Pop number fell again for the 10th day they have been giving it Now at 231 - down from 245 yesterday.

That is better than every borough in GM.

That is the good news today. The low vaccination number in Scotland the worry. Though it was snowing a lot over the weekend we are hearing stories of vaccine supply slow down so we have to hope it is just the weather. She and the doctor who appears with her seem sure they will meet their target of reaching all the most vulnerable by mid February so hopefully there will be enough.

'Well on track to meet the target date for the over 80s' was how she put it. After being asked by a joiurnalist about why she prioritised care home residents and staff.

Why did anyone even need to ask that question? It is very obvious these were the most at risk being trapped in a place where they could not self isolate like the wider community mainly could.

He keeps promising and it keeps being a nonsense ,you cannot promise during a pandemic

The media have a lot to

Speaking at a COVID-19 vaccination site at Barnet Football Club in north London, the PM said: "We're looking at the data as it comes in, we're looking at the rates of infection, as you know the JCVI [Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation] groups 1 to 4 [on the priority list] will be vaccinated by February 15.

"Before then we'll be looking at the potential of relaxing some measures.

people will latch onto that , he never learns

Sorry HP, 9 times out of 10 I get the numbers from you - just happened to see them elsewhere first today (your standards are dropping :-)), unfortunately it's not something I'm in any position to make a habit of. I don't think anyone would grudge you a break from it all, I do look forward to your updates though. Don't think there's a poster on here who doesn't appreciate your posts on the figures.

Reporter also just asked about why the vaccination numbers were halved yesterday.

NIcola Sturgeon thinks it was just a lag in collating numbers on Sunday. Bit if not they will catch up today. THere is not a shortage that would cause numbers to fall.

Gotta laugh, politicians citing leaving disadvantaged kids behind, as a reason to get schools open ASAP?

Do me a favour, these cunts have never cared about disadvantaged kids and lack of opportunity.

They are disadvantaged for good reason, there is no money in the home and there are those parents who never give a shit.

The majority of kids who will be left behind by this pandemic were always being left behind, that is the inequality of society and life in general.

Too many politicians playing this card and lazy teachers, when the real motive is their mates just want big business open again.

That's why I have massive respect for Marcus Rashford. He threw light and effectively shamed a nation and government into a problem that was convenient to ignore for decades, kids who are reliant on getting something to eat at school because they can't get enough at home.

Wasn't the public's problem you see, out of sight, out of mind and all that.

Do you think Drs surgeries and pharmacies might close on Sunday so fewer vaccinations?
In fact out pharmacy doesn’t open Saturday or Sunday.

What I would say is that your info is better! The ones people post on Twitter doesn't have the 3wks vs 2wks vs 1wk vs today angle. Just this week and last week. Seeing where its come from 3 weeks ago is very useful. It is of course your choice though and im defo sure we all appreciate the hard work :)
