Yorkshire and the North East - the lowest rated region for cases in England is well ahead of most areas in having given the most vaccinations.

Today it will have done its one millionth jab as yesterday it was at 998, 863.

The only region to have done more is the Midlands if you combine east and west - which is at 1, 149, 182. If you do not Yorkshire with the lowest case numbers has had the mot vaccinations.

South East is third at just 12, 030 behind Yorkshire.

North West is fourth with 859, 652 jabs.

London trails in last with 667, 301. Even behind the smallest region - the South West.
 
The news from Israel continues to look good if the 60% hospital admissions fall for over 60s with Covid post start of their rapid vaccination programme continues to hold true.

Hopefully this time next month we will be in a not dissimilar position to Turkey now because we are likely to be the first major populated nation to get close to where Turkey is going.
 
Been out for most of the day but the drop in new cases looks very encouraging. Sustained and significant fall. Drop in vaccines given yesterday but it was a SUnday. We can't get out of this soon enough obviously so I just look towards the vaccine figures and hope that the new cases come down every day.

bloody hell mate! You are wrong on this one - if I can’t say half a milion a day when it was 491170 then I give up! Stop being pedantic on it.

Not doubting you Kaz, just wondering what your opinion is of what that distancing might entail? Ie still not socialising with family/friends indoors or more to do with numbers of people in commercial premises/wearing of masks etc? Just interested in how far you think these sort of measures might continue and to what extent, I know there's lots of unknowns.

It should go over 500k this week as new sites open. I am a bit unsure about the supply though. We keep hearing news about Astrazeneca and Pfizer reducing supply. I am hoping that that effects Europe more than the UK.

I'm not being pedantic, you clearly said "500k a day" it was close once, otherwise it's not been close, the average is about 300k a day, not far off half what you said.

It's good, I'm not knocking it, but stop exaggerating to make your political party seem better than they are, which is what you are trying to do. When it's averaging "500k a day", I'll agree with you, but it's a good way off that currently, and we have no idea if the actual supply can get it there either, given that the EU are now whinging we are taking to much of the vaccine.

nothing to do with politics whatsoever and was not even in my mind for one second when I posted it. Out of order there so please do not assume what I am trying to do ok??

I will quote a text I have just received from my friend at AZ which I have just this second revived in a minute word for word. That can be my political point for today.

I really dont want to guess and so depress people further , i do think it will be more towards masks and not shaking hands, social distancing when out and that , hopefully not to do with family by then , difficult to know but whitty thinks some measures will be needed

Well whatever you were doing you weren't being truthful, because it's not "500k a day", and that's all I care about, hopefully it can be, but it's not yet.

I don't like incorrect information being posted in this thread for good reason.
