Not sure if mentioned, but found this tucked away in the Gaudrian:
‘Airfinity, based on the agreed vaccine supply deals and taking into account the latest developments in terms of delayed production, suggests that the UK will have achieved herd immunity by vaccinating 75% of the population by 14 July, closely followed by the US on 9 August. The EU will have to wait until 21 October.’

All subject to change, of course, but you might be able to celebrate Bastille Day sans mask.

Mass slaughter - what is happening?
Where are the bodies kept?
Where are all the funerals?

i'll answer, maybe they're genuine queries;

1 - there's a global pandemic, currently the UK has suffered a bit with this (i saw in the news the other day).
2 - bodies are usually kept in morgues in hospitals or specially built facilities. sadly, due to non-normal surges in those dying, some temporary facilities have been used in some areas.
3 - The funerals take place in registered places, as per normal. There are over 4,000 funeral directors in the UK who attend to ca. 600,000 deaths per year (subject to religion, wishes etc). in 2020 there were ca. 700,000 deaths.

The point i am trying to make is that we didnt go from no deaths happening to suddenly 100,000 (though granted, it does sometimes come across that way), this is a system used to 600k per year. Each funeral director would have had to take on an extra 25 funerals in 2020 (but obviously this doesn't quite work with timings, are differences, religions, choice etc). Hope some of this at least helps a bit.

I think the only thing that could top the shitshow that was 2020 would be a bloomin' war kicking off over the vaccines that are meant to save us lol.

Does anyone on here have any idea which vaccine they are giving out at George Lawton hall in Mossley?

We have booked my grandma in for the jab next week but she can only have the Astra zeneca one. Her doctors told her in December she couldnt have the pfizer one due to a reaction she had last year to some anti biotics and said when the others are available she will get a call. Shes heard nothing and they just fob her off all the time saying they will get someone to call her and never do. I’ve got Involved now cos they are an absolute joke. I’ve Spoken to them this afternoon and they have said they don’t know which vaccine is given at each site, and she should be ok with the Astra one.

England hospital deaths more detail:

3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v Today Total . NW total / NW % of England total

674 / 72 NW /11 %

1012 / 106 NW / 10%

1027 /124 NW / 12%

973 / 138 NW / 14% Today

First really concerning number for NW as that looks like a rising percentage of deaths week to week.

This is always one of the biggest days of the week for catch up data but NW might be starting to see the consequences of the numbers of cases that rose after Christmas in the area tragically

Not easing my concerns this is becoming the focus of the pandemic.

I don't know but I do know they have relaxed the guidance re specific allergic reactions.

I am allergic to penicillin (an antibiotic for example) but I am expecting to be able to have either jab.

Edit: I googled this. MHRA guidance changed so that if you have a reaction to a random unrelated medicine you are OK to have the jab as long as there are no components of the vaccine to which you are allergic.

Specialist Pharmacy service

There's a specific section there which says:

"Antibiotics

Public Health England’s Immunisation Against Infectious Disease (the Green book) states that individuals with previous allergy to an identified drug, including anaphylaxis, can receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine."

I would check with GP or qualified health professional though. You could print out the document I guess and take it with you and ask on the day if you can't clarify before?

584, 125 pillar 1 and 2 tests.

That is a remarkable positivity rating of just 4.3%

Below the WHO 5% for control of a pandemic.

The media will report it as a big cases rise and entirely miss that most important number.

Why on Earth does England never promote this figure as it really is what counts?

That is also another 600 or so out of hospital deaths in England.

Awful lot of Covid deaths are occurring not in hospital now.
