What I am wondering about all these people who are feeling rough for a few days = mostly seeming to be younger age groups if I follow the logic here.

Is it possibly they have had Covid without knowing it as it was asymptomatic and the vaccine has kicked off their immune system to get rid of the lingering bits?

Or is it just younger immune systems less used to vaccinations (as most over 60s go through this annually with the flu vaccine) so reacting in ways they have not had to do before to prime the body.

It obviously is not that it 'gives' you Covid as some internet forums are likely speculating already so either of the above seems the most likely.

The only people I know who have had it are all over 70 and the most any had was a bit of a headache for a few hours and a slightly sore arm for 24 hour much as common with the flu jab.

Can give a report tomorrow from my brother as he has had Covid since Christmas and is getting the AZ jab.

He should have had the Pfizer jab today but you are not allowed that one if you are allergic to penicillin. As he is. Hence the change of plan when they checked his medical file.

Anyone who thinks they might have a penicillin reaction should make sure it is on your medical file before you get the call. Just in case nobody checks and you are given the one that may trigger this.

As you age your immune system weakens hence young people report greater adverse reaction to vaccinations.

Daughter had Covid a few month back and last week received her first Pfizer jab. No adverse effects and just a numb arm for the day. When she caught it she was maudlin for a week, light headed and disorientated but no breathing problems.

They changed the guidance on Pfizer and antibiotic reactions.

I’m thinking it’s more to do with being younger/immune system. Only based on my very limited experience. My parents and my uncle were all fine (late 60’s/70’s). We (40’s) rough for 3 days. I spoke to my daughters social worker today (early 30’s) and she was rough for 4 days (bed bound). Hardly scientific evidence I’ve just posted there, but thought I’d share.

I imagine this been covered already but is door-to-door testing not a bit drastic? Not necessarily complaining. Just an observation that it seems to be taking it to another level when we’re already locked down.

Not sure where you have got it from that most people who are rough after the vaccine are the younger ones. Going off the people i know , its been the older ones that have felt rough .

Most people I’ve spoken to that have had the AZ jab have been rough for 2-3 days. My parents weren’t though (late 60’s), they had it the same day as us and have been fine. Not complaining about a dodgy few days mind, all worth it in the long run.
Mother in law had the AZ a week last Sunday.

No side effects at all.

ONS have been doing it since the pandemic started

Close to death perhaps?
Possibly but the article says:-
The family statement issued at weekend said: "The medical care he has received in the last few weeks has been remarkable and we know that the wonderful staff at Bedford Hospital will do all they can to make him comfortable and hopefully return home as soon as possible."

Let's hope he does get to return home.

I think things might have unfortunately got worse since then. Hopefully I’m wrong!
