You are Andre Marriner and I claim my £5
No excuses,if the likes of Brighton can beat these twats,we have no excuses, due to poor penalties which has to improve...false 9s all over the place, our defence should take care of Salad and co,they don't want to be facing us after there recent calamities....Let's do it!!!!
Need to throw Sterling in to break his duck against that overated shower...
We can do this...We are not top of the league for nothing, unlike United who have been assited most of the way...

Might be worth remembering that before the home game against Liverpool people were effectively begging Pep to pick Aké instead of Cancelo at LB, and then Cancelo played at LB and was our best defender on the day.

Just assume that Pep's not an idiot and if he picks a certain player, he's probably got an idea as to why. It might not work, but that could be the case for any player picked.

no chance I watch this game live I can’t be doing with that twat carragher wanking himself into a frenzy if the worst was to happen and besides I’m to nervous. I will check Bluemoon at around 6 30, if we win or draw I will immediately get the beers out and watch the recorded match if we lose I will delete the game and sulk. yes I know I’m pathetic

I don't think that past results or performances will have that big an impact without supporters in the stadium. I feel as though it'll be a much less emotional game than normal, but yes I definitely think that 460 is the way to go.

Who would you play in the false 9 if the midfield three is Gundo, Rodri, Bernardo ?
On the first part, I agree it’s a different kettle of fish with no fans, however you can rest assured Klipperty will fire them up so much that to them it’ll feel like they have a full stadium for the first part of the game. I think he knows that we are in a far better place mentally than them so he will want to put us on the back foot and hope to bag early. Hence why I would accept thats the way they will play, assume that Mane and Salah will start and be aggressive, and therefore just try and keep it tight early doors and not give them a stupid headstart.

Wouldnt surprise me if Dinho starting was a Pep curveball, but assuming youre right about the middle 3 then I’d 100% be starting Phil and then tbh I’m not that bothered which are the other 2, assuming of course it’s definitely false 9. I don’t though just want Jesus to play up front, but cool if he’s wandering off the left, same about Mahrez, I don’t want him stuck out right but fine if he wants to roam and get in the hole.

In answer though, my guess is that Pep would go Foden, Sterling and Mahrez. Jesus on bench.

Brighton deserve full credit. Klopp is shit scared of city and his mind was all on sunday but he clearly didn’t watch city vs brighton match and underestimated them.
They were tough to breakdown when we played them.

Well we've come through our batch of games the pundits expected us to win with a 100% record. Absolutely fantastic effort by the team,as we all know there are no easy games at this level. Our main rivals slipping up to give us a points cushion has been an added bonus.

We now go into a much harder round of fixtures starting with our nemesis the bus wrecking cheating scousers. Surely it's time we put this bloody Anfield jinx to bed? If we beat them, barring a major collapse on our part, that's their title challenge done. The same applies to the other games in this batch. Get through them with a 100% record and we must have one hand on the trophy. Obviously a big ask but fingers crossed.

Yeah, I agree.

I guess we'll see with Zin, but I'm still convinced that that's the most likely decision for LB. Especially with the form they're in.

They are playing a lot deeper this season to protect the back 4 which has slowed down their transitions and added 10-15m to the balls they put in behind for Mané/Salah which makes them a lot easier to defend.Because of that I think Dias, Stones & Ederson should be able to cope with Mané and Salah.

It seems to me Pep might decide the best way to stop their pace being dangerous on transition is to create a massive overload of numbers with Zincenko, Cancelo, Foden (from LW) and Jesus coming into midfield to give loads of options to the person with the ball so we don't lose the ball, and win it back immediately if they do turn us over.

On the Cancelo/Walker argument, Salah and Alexander Arnold defending their right side vs Cancelo andFoden is a battle I'd back us to win every day, and Walker does give you that out and out pace against Mané.

I'm not sure what Laporte adds in this game. Zinchenko is better on the ball, Cancelo is a better 1v1 defender and Walker's pace covers the one thing that could catch out Stones and Dias. There's games where I think him playing LB/3 at the back will be really useful, but not against Liverpool.

My preference is Zinchenko, but Pep's not picked him vs. Liverpool for ages, so I think he'll go Cancelo.

Presume Alisson, Fabinho and Mane will all be available for them?
I suspect that even if not 100% fit, Klopp will chuck them in, and that Henderson will be back in midfield come what may, even if that means partnering Phillips with one or other of the new CBs.
He’ll gamble on unsettling us and pinching a lead with an early onslaught. This game is now as much of a ‘free hit’ for them as it is for us. We’ll need to be on it from the start.
Withstand the early ‘kitchen sink’ tactics and I’d be confident we can expose the heart of that defence.

My dream scenario is for Bernardo to celebrate a hat trick goal by putting on his big coat and swigging from a takeaway coffee cup while strolling back to halfway before the VAR check is even complete. Never mind lockdown, TOWN

He is fantastic going forward or tucking in the middle but this game needs stability right from the get go. I feel Laporte gives me more confidence as a left footer against diving pussy.
I see your point however I think Cancelo is one of the first on the team sheet at thr moment, probably top 3 WBs in Europe currently. IMO, he plays.

He is in top form and he is real baller. Use to play as mf before turning into lb but I just feel more secured with laporte.
