And fuck it, one more set of optimistic Israeli graphs. Let's facce it, we've seen enough doom laden ones over the past year.

Look how hospitalisations dive in the older, vaccinated population compared to the younger.

Anyone got a link to UK data for hospitalisations by age - would be good to see if first indications of our vaccination programme are visible yet.

Sorry, side note. How long did you dizziness last? It’s one of my big bears at thr moment, I can be just sat doing nothing and then it feels like I’m stood on a ship.

I get really bad cramps in my legs too but not sure if that’s because I’ve just spent 6 days laid up in hospital.
 
GREAT NEWS TOO FROM ENGLAND HOSPITALS.

(Sorry Kaz but it needs to be shouted out this once :) )

Second day running 1000 fewer Covid patients than day before.

Now down to 25, 334 as of today - that is 1040 fewer than yesterday. And 4999 fewer than the 30, 333 who were in 7 days ago.

Every single region fell today - even the North West for the third day running.

North West Patients fell by 150 to 3557 today versus 4203 last week.



Every OTHER region also had fewer ventilated patients than yesterday:

Down from 3328 yesterday to 3275 today versus 3583 seven days ago.

The only exception was the North West which - in keeping with its still high death numbers - rose ventilator patients by 4 to 364. Though that is still down from the 396 last week.


So the UK has fallen below 30,000 in hospital today by a few hundred for the first time in several weeks when you add on the just over 4000 patients in the other three nations.

The Telegraph has a new article detailing a study by UCL in which they say the current R rate is the lowest it has been since last April at between 0.65-0.86. They are using real time measurement rather than the two week average that SAGE uses.

They say the lock down is one factor but vaccination is also a major reason for the fall. They are predicting that herd immunity can be achieved some time in July based on current progress.

I would think RSF’s army of fans won’t amount to not much, BA though need taking to task they shouldn’t be endorsing any of those tweets
 
Just took my mum for her jab at the Halliwell Stadium in Warrington. Very slick and full of lovely helpful smiley people which helped no end as she needs a wheelchair and was really nervous and stressed. Everyone involved in this vaccine is a doing a cracking job. More than 35000 people vaccinated in Warrington so far.
