How do you cope with nerves during a big game at home

Not very well I don’t watch any of the bore before the game & only the after crap if we won. Sit like a coiled spring shouting obscenities feel like I have played by the end of it. Even when we are a couple in front I can’t relax. Always been the same and that is amplified if it’s red pox we are playing.

Nothing beats the Kompany Derby . I didn’t have a season card at the time so had to watch at home . Last 10 mins I had to go in my garage . My daughter carried on watching and I kept looking through the window asking her is it over yet . The worst is when we are winning . The Newcastle Yaya game was nearly as bad !
That derby nearly finished me off, the whole build up to it was awful, never felt that nervous for a derby since , in these covid times no game makes me nervous like the ones before

Used to love Derby day in my youth late 60s/70s as I've gotten older the more nervous I get . The last Derby I watched live was 2004. In the pub with my mate Nervous as he'll all through, at one point I seriously thought I was going to have heart attack and we were winning 3.1 for fucks sake.So I've decided Derbies are bad for my heailth ,now days switch the phone off and try and watch anything on tv till game as finished.

In the good old day's when we could go {seems like years ago now}. When we played the Rags or the Dippers I'd wake up with my stomach in knots and it would be like that until I got to the turnstile. Then as if by magic I'd be buzzing and couldn't wait for kick off. Now watching on the box it's somehow just not the same.

Hate the way 4, 5, or 6 nil games just fly by, but tense, 1 nil up and under pressure games seem to last an eternity. But getting up and pacing up and down is the only thing to do.

Fantastic, just loved the way Vinnie celebrated when he scored a goal.

Try to copy a day going to the match. Two hours before, play loud tunes, have a few pints, maybe come on here and read comments - it’s as near as I can get to a chat in the pub pre-game. Then scream at the tv, I’m always more nervous watching the box than I am in the ground; at the end I’ll have more beers, music, social media and end with a take-away and maybe a movie with the missus.
It’s definitely the best part of the lockdown!

Liverpool have crossed the halfway line dad ....... dad.........dad

I've been really enjoying the football. My nerves have been shattered every game, no idea how I'll cope with our next game. Thank God for football through this pandemic. I had my Covid Vaccine today and just going to the Etihad to get it made me think how we'll all soon have some kind of normal. Can't wait to get to see City in the stadium again, how lucky are we all to have PEP and the boys? So look forward to meeting up with my fellow blues soon!
Great news about the vaccine! Is that dose 1 or 2?? But yeah it'd be lovely if some can get in for the end of the season. Feels about 50/50 right now.

I hope not. I want that trophy back in Manchester before the Scousers get back in Klanfield. And they can wait another 30 years to see it lifted in front of them. Yes I'm a bitter twat

Annoyingly I’ve become tee-total during our games since this run started and am now superstitious as fuck about it.

I thought it would be safe to change this for the Cheltenham game and cracked open a bottle of cider. We were 1 down when I realised it might be my fault. I finished it pronto and hid it out of sight and the comeback duly followed.

As this run has gone on my nerves have got better, mainly due to our performance levels going up and up but also due to the teams in red shitting their pants with increasing regularity.

I’ll have nerves Sunday though and no beers.

If they keep losing to relegation battling teams the timing might work out that they've lost it before we've won it. ;)

I only get nervous if it’s a really big game (like Sunday).

I have a habit of drinking lots of water/juice (I don’t drink alcohol at home really).
