That's either a very good fishing expedition or you need to go to your GP for a dementia check. The media had us failing FFP in 2010, before it had even started. Then there was the fuss over Mancini's appointment and even outright lies.
The campaign against City began even as due diligence began and it was orchestrated form the start from the swamp. It was City's money which was ruining football, but no-ne would ever join such an upstart club. Then the other members of the gang got seriously worried and we had FFP, the most brazen expression of contempt for commercial law, foisted on the game to stop Sheikh Mansour spending his money and to maximise profits for a band of grubby, sticky fingered Yanks. The next step in this evolution was the overtly political intervention of a rabble of scribblers such as Conn et al whose aim was to convince the worried, the scared and the stupid that Manchester City were a threat to human rights everywhere, quite unlike the squeaky clean authors of FFP for instance. The propaganda may change, its mouthpieces may vary but they're all the same - this is our game, you're not wanted.

Klopp's a lying turd, trying to deflect from his own and his team's shortcomings.

We both played on the 19th of December, us at Southampton and them at Palace. Since then, we've played 13 games while they've played 11. Our 13 includes the 2 League Cup games away at Emirates and Old Trafford (a competition we take seriously unlike them). So our "2 weeks off" involved 2 more games than them.

I wonder if any journalist has done some basic research and pointed that out. The club PR team should be all over this, with an official statement to make Klopp look like the lying hypocrite he is, rather than leaving Pep to deal with it.

Other way around sky would had all the stats of games played days we not played within an hour of the press conference and be repeated every hour and how Pep has been disrespectful! But no no stats and it’s about Klopp getting one over on pep with the mind games.

Ur probably right ,at first they reported with no hatred, but it just goes to show that it was all back handed compliments,

they don’t mind the odd season when an unlikely winner occurs ,such as us in 2011/12,Leicester etc,

but when it turns into more ,their real motives and agend’s quickly come to the fore which leads me to believe that it is indeed true that these so called journalists are in the pay of these clubs in red
Maybe there's nothing personal in it but it's just what makes the press money? Which I suppose doesn't explain the BBC's position.
After we won the title in 2014 a Liverpool supporting mate said he'd found 6 different books about Liverpool's title challenge. All the "Dared to Dream" bollards. Said he'd never seen one about the team that actually won the league

Always makes me smile how obvious it is that he fucking despises Simon Stone and his inane but snide fishing expeditions
Stone's question was pathetic. He essentially said: "Are you concerned that you will be criticised for having a two-week Covid break over Christmas following Jurgen Klopp's comments." He couched it as if it was true when in fact we had multiple players affected and only one match was actually postponed. In fact we had more games and less rest time than LFC so the Klopp claim was just false.
Stone must know the claim by Klopp is false (he can check on Google). A fair and legitimate question would have been: "Were you surprised by Jurgen Klopp's comments." Stone is a disgrace.

They would all have been written with the assumption of cashing in on a scouse title win. Same as The Times with their extensive season review of the team that came second in 2019

Pity pep didn’t say “with you being a very good bbc sports Journalist you will know we didn’t have 2 weeks of”?
“So how many weeks days did we have of because of covid”? Wait to see what he says

Pep should ask the c*nt what time it is and see if he flashes his Rag sponsored time piece.
Burt is a Liverpool FC fan and, like so many in the media, incapable of being impartial. If the Telegraph was a credible organisation they wouldn't have asked him to do that article they would have found someone who was not biased.

It’s been going on long before Pep.

I can’t remember too much media bias vitriol back in 2010 days, but clearly PB has a better memory than me.

2013-14 season was the big turning point in my mind:
Pelligrini coming in and smashing it - showing that the City revolution wasn’t just a one manager wonder.
The moyesiah failing - years of sycophants with the ‘United way’ having to find any scapegoating they could latch onto.
Liverpool failing - the replacement Red media darling, self destructing.
FFP becoming the acronym on everyone’s lips.
A ramping up of the hitherto unknown phrase ‘sports washing’.

prior to that, I do remember the ‘dirty Arab oil’ and ‘no history’ , but, for me, the 13/14 season and summer and then the following seasons ramped up continuation, was when I realised it had gone far beyond the realms of factual (albeit sports!) reporting and into bias, vitriol and slandering... and led me to Bluemoon - to see whether I was being media & fan brainwashed or blue tinted specs blinded.

I was, and am still glad to know it was the former, now immeasurably reinforced with financial posters like PB et al, and hypocrisy calling out people like Rabin.
Did the media ever make jokes about other managers names as they smirked over Pellegrino.

From past evidence our PR team are highly unlikely to issue such a statement PB.

From your knowledge of the club why do you think we are so passive in letting lies like this go publicly unchallenged ? Surely they can see the damage that is done to the club from such events together with the constant drip of shit from the rag/dipper loving media whores.

It would be one thing if the positive things which the club have achieved were to pass under the radar with little or no comment, but to allow lies and incorrect information go unchallenged is just so wrong for everybody associated with the club.

I think the difference is the yanks are in it to make money, nothing more or less. They hate football. The more they have to spend to keep up with us the more they come up with ways to stop us.
They want a NFL type football league, there is no doubt about it, a draft day on sky sports Jesus what could be worse
I broadly agree with this but I wouldn't underestimate the anti-Arab (Islamophobic) culture in the senior echelons of the US business community especially with John Henry (and his cronies) and the Glazers. Middle East politics and sectarianism is definitely part of the issue. The "arab oil money" narrative comes from a very bad place.

Can anyone become a self employed journo. Imagine if a few undercover blues were at these conferences to openly ridicule the so called pro’s when they disrespect our club and manager.
It would be easier to print their pictures and if we see them at future games give them a" Kippax car park welcome"

Not very confident in his beloved United then. 6 points behind us and he has already written them off. Also if supposedly impartial media sources think like that and say it publicly, hardly surprising what refs and var are thinking

Absolutely zero chance of an apology.. the cult are saying he was “taken out of context”
I haven't seen the full interview is it somewhere online?

You don’t remember the noisy neighbours & the outrage when Mancini was taking over, the mercenary tag, the changing of the rules with Adebayor, the introduction of ffp & treatment of Raheem.

I think things ramped up another level after we won every domestic trophy which coincided with trumped up media stories which then forced uefa to ban us despite us being innocent.
I can remember the due diligence phase of the takeover and numerous journos casting doubt on it going through. The likes of Brazil and friends on T/S were desperate to see the buyout fail and some openly laughing about us ever finishing in the top four.

A good response would have been I was concerned when my players were infected with a deadly virus in a pandemic. It was contracted at the hotel that we had to use due to having to travel to London for a late night fixture & we were due to play 2 days later. Medics were concerned that this could spread if the next game wasn’t postponed, these are real concerns. What some German toothy twat or bullshitting hacks write aren’t my concern.

I quite like this!

Also find it amusing the whole "no one cares when City win" thing. They care alright, in fact it bothers some of the journos so much they can't bear to write about it. I was disappointed to see migsy finally write something about us the other day, but it did make me laugh when he got the inevitable dig about wealth in there and played down Guardiola's tactical masterclass by claiming he just happens to have figured out pandemic football first (no biggie)

Delaney also said we had easy games - failing to mention that these are the same teams who have embarrassed the redshirts recently

Football focus and Ashley Williams on his first ever appearance on the show took all of 60 seconds to lose any credibility. Talking about Arsenal he said they need to be like united who are now back to where everyone wants them to be. Cliched utter bollocks and just shows they have zero credibility and just say what they think the masses need to hear.
