The threshold for awarding penalties varies with the colour of the shirt. It seems refs are programmed for anything that hits the ground wearing a red shirt. Other teams have to be cleaned out completely to get one. Compare the Salah dive today with the push in the back on Torres, the handball in the same game and the trip on Jesus recently.

Big learning curve for Ruben, he’s been a rock for us and just showing his first sign of nerves. He will know he should have just launched the ball into the stands, but then he won’t ever have come across a player that’s as big a diving **** as Salah. That touch he had on his arm would never get a player to go down in 999/1000 occurrences, but with that twat you just knew he was going to drop, it was a fucking embarrassment. Oliver couldn’t wait to give it of course and never going to be overturned. Ruben will learn from that, and it was a shame that Zinchenko gets punished for his only time he let Salah go, as other than that Zinchenko was faultless and imperious. A proper 9.5/10 performance from him.

Tbh, Richards giving it that chanting in the studio today was a bit small time imho, cos Souness is generally fair and complimentary about City, as is Keane. If it had been the likes of certain other pundits then fair enough ...

Missed penalty, disallowed goal, Salah soft penalty, no striker (or KDB)... and we still won 4-1 away.

Fantastic result ! We've had some incredible results over the past 10 years, but this is right up there.

We thought today might be something special and it has become an all time classic.
