It wasn’t meant as a direct dig like you think, more offering some context to the situation. Anyone can see that we’re not the ‘worst defending champions ever’, we’re a team that’s been ravaged by injuries and inevitable dips in levels. It’s not entirely dissimilar to you last season and I mean that with total respect. The levels you'd reached over the previous few years were phenomenal. A dip was always going to happen to you and us. If you look back at my previous posts, I’ve never been one for sly digs or whatever even if this hasn’t always been reciprocated. But of course I’ll stick up for my team, that’s what fans do. That we don’t always view or interpret the game in the same way is to be expected but I like to think I’m always fair. Credit where it’s due and that’s exactly how I saw this match. One team took their chances in a game of very few indeed between two sides fairly well matched. There’s no problem this side, that’s football.
It was a direct dig, quoting the last team to have such a (specific) downturn, the season after winning the title. We don't mind opposition fans on here (even you lot), if you behave yourself. We're okay with discussing the merits of A, B and C with you. Just leave the digs out. I wouldn't dream of going near RAWK on any subject, never mind something like Gerrard's slip. Or Allison's fuck up last weekend. Bear that in mind.

Well, my MO on here has only ever been to talk about the footy rather than slanging matches so rest assured there was no malice behind it & apologies if it’s come across that way. I just thought it was a completely ridiculous statement to make and a bit of context was needed. No harm, no foul.

I can’t believe any Pool supporter (with a little footy knowledge) thinks Sunday was anything other than a good spanking?? Think some are putting too much emphasis on how the game was commentated on & reported and believe they where actually in the game. Make no mistake this was a Pep masterclass, we conceded one chance in our area in the first half, that may not entertain the cretins on comms who wanted a bloodbath in the first twenty minutes, but it’s exactly how Pep would’ve planned it. Possession stats where used to try & show Liverpool as being dominant, which was swallowed by the masses. As for the second half, they had one pot shot from the edge that was well defended & a hoof ball leading to a dive & soft pen. After that we systematically tore em apart, those mistakes where forced on their keeper by our relentless energy & Pep’s decision to switch to 2 up top, when the rest of the football world catches up & realises what actually took place we’ll already be champions

Who was the last team to finish runner up eighteen points behind the winners the season after triumphing? This season will never ever be used as any kind of barometer as to where teams are up to, far too many aggravating factors in play.

This is one of the most hysterically hypocritical pair of statements I've ever read, and in back to back sentences too.

Sam Lee pointed out on his podcast with Mooney that the Liverpool fans can never accept being beaten. This 4-1 doesn't count because Alisson had cold feet. The 5-0 doesn't count because Mané kicked Ederson in the face. The 4-0 didn't count because they'd won the league.

They always have an excuse to try and pretend they didn't get twatted.

There is still time yet for my completely ridiculous statement to become factual, let's see what happens in the next 15 games you have left to play, starting this weekend.

Anyway I've got to go now,we have another round of a cup to concentrate on,couldn't see who you was playing later, then I remembered.

Cheers

Not trying to make any excuses for Liverpool’s recent results but that news about Klopp’s mum puts a bit of a different perspective on things and maybe had an impact of sorts. I know their form started faltering a few weeks before she passed away on 19th Jan but since then it can’t have been easy for him to concentrate 100% on the job in hand and some of that could’ve seeped through to their players.

Why is this? The first sentence shows how daft the ‘worst defending champions ever’ comment was and as for the second, look at United. Not one of you or I would ever have had them near the top of the league right in it at this stage. If you win the league this season, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad team or you won’t have deserved it. But if United won it, have they then usurped the likes of us two as the new kings? Of course not, because there are a lot of other factors in play. So if LFC finished 4th this year, would it be the end of the world? In fairness, the drop would hurt but it’s against the backdrop of a full season under the cosh of a pandemic and a pretty horrific injury list. It’s not ideal but it doesn’t make us a bad team overnight. That’s what I mean in the second sentence, not that anything you may win will be tarnished for example. Far from it, the best team usually wins the league whatever year.

I actually see where you're coming from.
I've visited a few rival forums, mainly from links on here.
I've nearly joined, if only to correct a few over inflated mistruths.

But the thing i found was that all fans just want a place to hang out and console each other about how good/bad their team is. Very few want to talk real football like you would face to face with rival fans.
So it leads to fake news being regurgitated a real facts.

Ultimately, you will never win. Being a member of a rival forum is just pointless.
You can point out facts out all day long and somebody will try and shoot you down. Your differing opinion will always be seen as wumming because you will never gain trust. Proper blues on here are routinely called rags for ever daring to give an unpopular/opposing view.
Try winding people up and you will just get binned.

Honestly, you would be better spending your time elsewhere...

I think our friends is exaggerating their injuries esp compared to ours this season and we beat them with no kev, sergio, eric, walker and they had their full team out except for dick

Lots of things you can score points on them with. Tragedies aren't one of them. Ditto Hillsborough, Munich, etc. General comments in passing are fine. Stuff like the letters of Heysel being swept under a carpet aren't on. Munich is mentioned in the rules on here. Logic would extend that to Heysel and Hillsborough.
This. My best mate was in Leppings Lane so it doesn’t just offend and upset them

But they make up for missing dick by their fans being proper dicks

Christ, no. Compared to other forums, we're pretty laissez-faire on here. RAWK and RedCafe are infinitely stricter than we are on here.
As I’ve said, our lot hate RAWK more than you and Redcafe ever could. On that scale, you’re not even close to us in all honesty. Never really been on Redcafe but I can imagine that their helmet quotient is pretty similar to RAWK so I guess the mods are busy on there.
I met one of the mods from RAWK at the inaugural meeting of SOS at The Sandon in 2008. It’s fair to say that I think he’d meet this forum’s expectations of what they think he’d be like...haha!

Well said,it shouldn't require an explanation.
