So utd can get 88 points max??,, being generous and I mean generous, say they win 12 draw 2, that's taking them to 84 points, just cant see them getting a run like that together so maybe 80 points would be enough

Just looking at our winning points totals from previous seasons:

2017/18 - 100 pts (Guardiola)
2018/19 - 98 pts (Guardiola)
2011/12 - 89 pts (Mancini)
2013/14 - 86 pts (Pellegrini)

I wonder where this season will rank amongst those. Obviously the first one is not mathematically possible and the second one would require us to win every game to equal it which is unlikely. I do think we can beat the points total from Mancini's season though.

Think if we negotiate the next 4 league games and win 2 or 3 of the next 4 it's all over if it isn't now.
Personally I think we will end up winning it by about 15 points.

I know 1 game at a time, but I can't see any other team win it this season
and I hope we'll have a nice gap to allow player rotation come April/May
when the 3 cup competitions go to crunch time...

Back from dreaming. 3 pts on Wednesday please.

I said a long time ago that this season would have a high 80’s Champion, because of so many draws, and bottom half clubs grabbing the odd result. I see nothing to change my mind now.

For us not to win it our points per game would have to drop to something equivalent to before the takeover. One game at a time and all that, but we have the greatest manager of a generation, possibly of all time, the two best midfielders in Europe on current form, and probably the best collective defence that City have ever had.

We just need to do our job - win the next game. Everyone else is doing what we need then too, which is to keep dropping points

Liverpool, Chelsea, United etc have all started to drop away now. Every game for these teams looks like a banana skin. There's only Leicester I think now who can make a challenge, but they won't win it. What a superb job Rodgers has done though.

I think we're likely to hit 85-90 points this year now and wouldn't surprise me if we win it by 15-20 points.

If we get to 80 points we can take our foot off the gas and concentrate on winning a few cups , because the Rags and Leicester will not get to 80 points
Not when the rags drop points against the 2 bottom teams in the division wba/sheffield. I think they have Fulham and Newcastle soon so more points dropped i think.

Yeh, but apart from that...

Just laid £100 on us to win the league at 1.05, a fiver I don’t mind not seeing again and would soften the blow slightly if the worst happened.

So to update my earlier post from this thread:

I personally think we'll be the only team to finish with 80+ points.

That means to finish below 80 points:
City would have to drop 19 points from a possible 45.

United dropping 9 more points from a possible 42.
Leicester dropping 9 more points from a possible 42.
Everton dropping 6 points from a possible 48.
Villa dropping 5 points from a possible 48.
Liverpool dropping 3 points from a possible 42.
Chelsea and West Ham dropping 5 points from a possible 45.
Spurs dropping 2 points from a possible 45.
Leeds dropping 1 point from a possible 48

And then there were 9.

United and Leicester have to get 34 points from 42 remaining to finish on 80.

80 will be enough imo, we should piss this.
