BT's response to my query as to why I have to listen to McManaman and Ferdinand when I'm trying to enjoy watching City;

"Thanks for taking the time to contact us. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

BT Sport has selected talent based on their relationship with and knowledge of the game; along with the expertise that they will bring to our coverage. Our selection of commentators isn't based on their playing history."

So now you know. I leave it to you to decide whether or not that is complete bollocks.
It's the BBC so it's 99% certain it's complete bollocks.

I would mate when they showed us first yet Arsenal are the ones heavily funded by Dubai. Agenda for me.
I’m not defending them. I just think it was disingenuous to say they highlighted City, when they mentioned both clubs.
Yes it was incorrect, which is actually the bigger point anyway (I see the 10pm news has edited it out), but at 6pm they highlighted both clubs, not just City - which is what your post misleadingly suggested (in my opinion of course ;-)

If their playing history isn’t a consideration, wouldn’t that imply that they are supposed to be agnostic about their preferences and there to offer opinion of tactics and such? In which case why do we have to listen to unconstructed insight and partisan views? They are patently there to play to their audience and they do that unashamedly.

The media in a bit of a tizz. They were going to run an excuse 'All Arabs look the same to me, l can't tell them apart' but the lawyers weren't keen on that. They are thinking something on the lies 'All Arabs are equal but Dubai Arabs are more equal than City's Arabs (whoever they are)'.
The stench of hypocrisy is strong in many newsroom.

I think it was an honest mistake, the vast majority of the media know our owners are from Qatar.

So it’s a complete coincidence that 90% of them played for the rags or dippers lol

Good article on the MUEN City web site about our victory at the Den in the late 1990s. Don't often have good things to say about that rag.

I read worse on the MEN yesterday. A reporter for our local rag claiming City are state owned. Embarrassing to say the least. Can’t remember the article mind.....found the article now

Tell lies often enough & the perception is it’s true. I hope one of you who can be arsed complaining about stuff takes our local newspaper to task about lying about who owns City
Luckhurst the racist rag

Official club account have just posted this

Coincidentally, Wayne Rooney also scored 54 goals against the other "top 6" teams in all competitions. There are many others missing from the list - Hazard, Henry, Van Persie, for instance.

As for Messi, it is no surprise he is on there. He has played around 34 games against English clubs in the CL.

The original graphic is just a compilation of a few goalscorers, and pretty meaningless really. They should be looking at goals per game, where Aguero is far ahead of everyone.

BBC Breakfast giving plenty of coverage to the Dippers after their fortunate win yesterday. Both goals shown, plus Robertson's effort Klopp's celebration and clip of an interview with him as usual dressed by the club shop like some bearded, bespectacled Pulis.
I wonder how much coverage we will get tomorrow. No doubt it will be on inverse proportion to how many points we get and the size of our lead at the top.

BBC News at Six reporting on the story of Dubai's ruler holding his daughter hostage and then goes on to say how "his country's wealth flows through Britain" followed by a shot of the Etihad stadium and then the Emirates

This sort of stuff simply happens far too frequently for it to be a coincidence. There is simply no other logical conclusion to draw.

Hehe although there's no cricket, racist abuse or 6 Nations going on there's still the tennis which apparently is getting towards the money shot part, having said that these days a dips win is actually big news there's no way of knowing but the post saved them from going behind, I suspect they'd have not come back from that and ipso not been lead story but hidden away behind tiddlewinks. We'll only get top billing tomorrow if we lose.
