Erling Haaland

There was a Delaney article yesterday or the day before saying something like “he and his dad want him to play in the PL but maybe not now”, but once you read the whole article, you see there is no information there, just guessing
What would they be waiting for?

he’s from that group of aloof “journalists” they think they know it all because they watch a few European games.

For the record, these are tier 1 barca sources, and they claim to have gotten this information from sources in other clubs who have gotten this information from Alfie.

The Dortmund CEO himself has denied it

It's going to ruin a few people's summers if he ends up going to Madrid for £200m or staying put. I'm going to remain sensible about this. Every club wants Haaland, Dortmund aren't going to give City a free run at him, they know what they have on their hands.

I’m not too worried about Madrid as they have Mbappe as their main target and have other transfer business to get done too, and not a healthy financial situation. Chelsea and United worry me more. And staying at Dortmund looks unlikely even if they qualify for the UCL (which doesn’t feel like it’s happening atm)

So we are living normal times?
Every club wants Haaland, Dortmund know what they have, so City aren't going to get a free run at him. COVID or no COVID. They'll probably keep him rather than sell cheaper if needs be. What's the point in convincing ourselves it's going to happen, we are only in February?

I'm just saying people need to prepare for a scenario where we don't get him, as much as we'd all like it to happen. We're building ourselves up to a potential meltdown if he doesn't come.

I think everyone here knows him not coming is a possibility. And everyday some people make sure to come here and post the same tired unconvincing arguments about why they think he won’t come, so it’s not like this is a thread of dreamers only.

Think we used to it. With the squad we have now with buying no one we will challenging for the title next season.

Haha: "it's not us, it's them" ok then.

I think I can see where it's all going if we don't get him.

There are other options, none as good as him I agree. We'd be some force with him in this team. Can you imagine the fume if we get him? "There's no point in watching football anymore"
