Incidently, the PHE data this week shows cases in care homes and hospitals have dramatically fallen over the last 3 weeks.

Shopping is absolutely shocking thanks to Covidiots. Only Morrisons is dealing with it. The rest are simply paying lip service to it and are actually doing sweet FA.
Schools are pretty bad too, no matter what some people are saying.
Agreed. Walked out of Didsbury M&S this morning as far too many people in the store and all four staff behind fish shop counter were maskless. I can’t believe they are all exempt and if they were why aren’t they wearing lanyards. Councils need to be doing more in terms of spot checks to ensure shops are complying and if not close them down. We are so near the end of this nightmare why risk fucking it up now but I fear that is what will happen.

England hospital data tonight - more good news

Patients:-

Ventilators-

Down 109 to 2142 - was 2592 last Sat - down 450 in week

East P Down 6 to 1530 v 2014 last Sat // V Down 7 to 176 v 205 last Sat

London P Down 245 to 2803 v 3562 last Sat // V Down 38 to 667v 865 last Sat

Midlands P Down 110 to 3080 v 3608 last Sat // V Down 18 to 421 v 495 last Sat

NE & Yorks P Down 42 to 2155 v 2589 last Sat // V Down 11 to 252 v 296 last Sat

North West P Down 127 to 2071 v 2631 last Sat // V Down 12 to 272 v 308 last Sat

South East P Down 123 to 1902 v 2261 last Sat // V Down 12 to 258 v 292 last Sat

South West P Down 49 to 775 v 1029 last Sat // V Down 11 to 96 v 131 last Sat

Again another universal day of all down in both numbers everywhere.

And again the North West falls are better than they were up to recent days igniting hope the region has tirmed a corner and that death percentage will fall like the other regions.

Just to add to this here are the new patient numbers admitted on Wednesdays week to week in 2021 (latest with full data):

3967 v 3840 v 3679 v 2742 v 2096 v 1535 v 1233

As you can see they show a big drop of more than two thirds in the 6 weeks.

Kept seeing posts like this, but presumed because I didn't live in a city or big town it must be that reason I wasn’t seeing crowds or people out and about. But spoke to my mum in Rochdale just an hour ago and she said she went ito Rochdale on the bus this afternoon the town was deserted and she was the only person on the bus and the only person in the bus station, She was commenting how surreal it was. Not sure how one town can be so quiet, yet others are seemingly busy and full of people.
Just seems so random how different places are.

Looking like the apparent plateau in cases might just be a blip. Very good news if so. Every day now, more people are immune. If we can open schools without any uptick, that will be massive. If we do have an uptick, we have Easter Hols to put a brake on things.

Fingers crossed still looking good.

That’s great news , patients & ventilators down . Get hospital admissions down and then we can definitely ease lockdown

Just seems so random how different places are.
Lots of younger people live in and around Didsbury and presumably they think they can behave in any manner they see fit. Even people in queues seem to have little or no concept of what two meters is. It was like normal times when people are literally on top of each other. Just wish Karma would strike and wipe out all the selfish, ignorant twats.

Sheffield centre is deserted, bar a few people in the Moor indoor market. Most people shop in the large supermarkets in the suburbs which always seem quite orderly to me. Morrisons staff at the fish counter and deli wear masks.

The number of cases in Sheffield had halved to about 100 a day this year, but is stubbornly staying at that level and it's hard to see what will bring it down, vaccine apart, unless the key workers the city relies on all stay at home.

what were cases today?

To be fair, I avoid going in to Rochdale at the best of times..

All the bar pubs and Cafés are closed, so What are they doing? Just walking around supermarket's

The village has countless places open. There are at least five coffee shops in the space of 600 yards, an M&S, Aldi, Co-op, cheese shop, fishmongers, butchers, numerous estate agents, a Boots, dry cleaners etc. More open than closed so it’s like a normal Saturday for most.
