Leicester going very strong in the Thursday Cup again tonight, that won't help them on Sunday.

7 people thought 70-75 pts would be enough. Optimistic souls!
If you say "75" then united and leicester need to get 26 more points, that is 2 points per game from now, they are currently both getting an average of 1.96, carry on at that rate it will leave them on 74, so maybe not such "optimistic souls".

I can't say I've ever been more relaxed apart from maybe 2017/18, but there's not much in it.

Win the next four home games and we’re then basically at the point where Pep can prioritise cup competitions over the league.

Would have laughed at anyone around mid December who said we would be in that position.
i would say if we win the next three, Utd are out of it. Leicester will also drop away.

We get beat by Leicester and the rags and suddenly we'll be shitting ourselves
Leicester just got dicked by an unknown club from east Europe. And the rags won't go far enough before they start stumbling again. I hate to say that the title is ours to lose but as long as we can slug out tight contests, I feel a bit better about our chances. This season should be about the CL and proving a point to the corrupt cartel that is UEFA.

You have a point. But I just can't see 75 being enough. Maybe I'm channelling the inner pessimist in me. But it does seem very low to me. Only once since 1992/93, when football started, has 75 pts been enough to win the title (the rags in 96/97). And only on two other occasions has sub 80 pt totals been enough (the following two seasons actually, the rags and Arsenal). The lowest in the last decade was Leicester with 81 pts; the average winning pts total in the last 10 years is 90.2. Admittedly, skewed somewhat by the very high pts totals in the last three seasons. But it would still be comfortably over 80 pts if those had been "normal" (mid eighties?) seasons.

I wouldn't say that Slavia Prague are unknown.

Its who finishes second is the stat you should be looking at mate.
And there have been quite a few in the low 70’s that finished runners up and on one occasion 68 was enough for Newcastle to do it.

It depends how you view Leicester's Europa League exit, because both points are equally valid

Firstly, it suggests that Leicester flatter to deceive and don't have the resources to compete on all fronts

Alternatively, as they're now out of Europe, and could easily exit the FA Cup in the next Round, they don't necessarily require those resources, (which made a massive difference in 2015-16 when they won the PL)

Either way, it's ours to lose.

I watched the Europa league highlights last night and only Arsenal provided any Utd were 4-0 up so the game didn't matter for them but for Leicester it was an important game and without Maddison they couldn't hurt their opponent.

People say what a good job he has done. Maybe. Maybe he is just lucky to be there when Maddison is there like Klopp is lucky to be at Liverpool when they have Firmino, Salah and Mane. Players are more important than coaches....see CFC when they had Lampard and Terry when anyone could have coached them to the league title simply because they didn't need a coach.
