I can't understand why some select Cancelo at LB when Zinchenko is in great form.

Since Laporte has returned from his injury (following the time out as punishment for his mistake against Spurs), Pep has been rotating the three and each plays two games and then sits one out.

These were February games ... and the central defenders played in them:

West Ham - Dias + Stones
Gladbach - Dias + Laporte
Arsenal - Dias + Stones
Everton - Dias + Laporte
Spurs - Stones + Laporte
Swansea - Garcia + Laporte
Liverpool - Dias + Stones
Burnley - Dias + Stones

Looking at that ... I think this is who will play next three:

Wolves - Stones + Laporte
United - Dias + Laporte
Southampton - Dias - Stones

Pep might change the games a bit and Stones-Dias may play the derby together but it's very likely that one of them is sitting Wolves out and Laporte coming in ...

yes looking at that list he has not played same two in a row. except first two games in feb but i think laporte was out then and only came back from that swansea game onwards.

That's what shoehorned is.
Putting someone or something into a place where its not really meant to be.
People want to accommodate Walker and leaving Zinchenko out is an easy option for them.

we need to win these games to be able to have room for any points we might drop in the next 12 games.

Because Cancelo can carry the ball easily in the offence and can dribble too, while Zinchenko can't do any of those, and actually Cancelo can dribble really well, as also Cancello has both feet while Zin cannot even pass 3 meters away with the right :)
Zinchenko though is more solid defensively.

It's just a matter of which game is it, to choose between them.

But why would you put him at left back.
Just leave him on the right.

Unfortunately for Zinchenko , Cancelo has to play most of the games and then its a straight choice between Walker or OZ , the games are coming thick and fast so both will get plenty of minutes , count ourselves lucky we have three outstanding full backs.
