Erling Haaland

I’m all in for wanting us to get Haaland. I think he’s already the best number 9 in the world and he would score a silly amount of goals in this team. His champions league record is also frightening.

As things stand him & Mbappe do look like being the best players of the next decade but we will all be lucky if we see another Messi in our life time and to be fair to the Ronaldo his goals record and champions league success probably won’t be matched again for a very long time.

I also think that Mbappe and Haaland stand out SO much because there is such a shortage of world class forwards. Rewind a decade and there were a lot more forwards who were at a similar level to them.
Lewandowski for me but Haaland is 20 - scary thought. His mentality is insane as well. Could be the signing I’ve been most excited about, topping KDB and Kun. Here’s to hoping

He apparently made 10 passes against Hertha Berlin. While Dortmund made 800+ in total. Which goes to show how little of the ball he gets. Anything to be worried about?

No. Realistically we can all see his quality and I’m sure he’ll be fine for us.

Assuming he signs for us, he'll be one of those players that's going to frustrating to the extreme when he doesn't score.

The upside is he tends to score quite frequently.

I think the only fear with a player like Haaland is laziness, but I have no reason to believe he wouldn't work hard in whatever capacity he's deployed in at City.

I know a BvB fan and they are not big supporters of outside investment, which of course indicts more than just City. German football is more pure and grassroots in their eyes. They consider us the anti-thesis to that.

Edit: this is also why many people in Germany do not like RB Leipzig or to less an extent Hoffenheim as their progression up the ranks was not "natural".
Nice that they are ‘pure’ for when the entire league bends over and spreads their cheeks for Bayern Munich

that's why you have the likes of Jesus to run around for him, besides if Pep can convince Kun and get what he did out of him he can do the same with Haaland.

I hope that £90m upfront release clause is true, because that means we don't have to deal with the fuckwit Dortmund CEO Watzke who hates City.

Instead, we can just go ahead and trigger it and deposit the £90m to Dortmund.

He would be fine when he scores but disgusting when he doesn’t score. Dortmund had 71% possession but he only had 16 touches, he doesn’t get involved in the play because he is poor on the ball, even worse than Lukaku we all laugh at. His performance was not that bad today compared to his other performances but the difference is today he didn’t get the goal that would make people start calling him “generational” or “best striker”

Probably gonna have strong Dzeko vibes if he plays for us.

But I think if he takes to Pep's coaching, he will improve and become a more all-rounded player. There were a few "square pegs in round holes" players for Pep that eventually came out for the better - Lewandowski, Aguero, etc.

We already have players that can pass all day but what we don’t have is someone that can take the chances and score for fun .
