when we had, for most of my adult life, no chance of winning the league, then yes, it’s very different what you classify as the most important matches to win.

Re: the derby-

On the one hand, it grates that the only possible way the rags can beat us if we play right into their hands AND they get an early goal. Just a slight tweak to cut off the only way they can win the game and we should never lose to them.

On the other hand, it’s fucking hilarious that the tables have turned and this is now their cup final and chance to rescue some pride as we leave them trailing in our exhaust fumes (mmmm lovely oil fumes).

They reward finishing a country mile behind City in the league by handing out contracts. This is fantastic and shows their inferiority complex and lack of will to win to compete for trophies.

Topping the league in January and suckering City with two goals will be their highlights from this season. It’s mid March we sit 17 points ahead of them and competing on 4 fronts, they can only dream of that scenario.

They are irrelevant now. Yes they are always our rivals but the derby is their cup final and not ours anymore. How the mighty have fallen.

I seriously doubt that result had anything to do with anything at the swamp and their long term plan.
I’d like to think it did but surely they’re not that dumb.

It will only be 1 league for next season hopefully, mackems going well for promotion, same league the season after might be too much to ask but we can hope.

They dropped lucky with the GPC. He turned himself into a one man management system. Since he left they have no idea how a modern football club is operated.
They are just floundering, unsure of where to go next. .
No direction, no strategy, no vision.
