Postal votes in the UK (During covid and beyond)

Millions of people have not the faintest idea what on line means.
My mother in law for one.
She is going to be greatly inconvenienced soon anyway. The govt are introducing photo ID in 2023 as a requirement to vote in person.
She has none. No passport, never drove, no bus pass, etc. Thank heaven she will be able to vote by post!

Only authoritarians are anti-democratic, are you an authoritarian AC, do you not believe in democracy?

I have said before in this thread, I would rather have a Tory government with 51% of 100% voting than a Labour government with 51% of 80% voting.

Because i believe in democracy, you obviously don't.

I didn’t mean replacing ballot boxes with only online voting, simply adding online to the current system.

That could only increase turnout.

We should be able to register to vote and choose whether to be sent a physical polling card or an email polling link.

When you vote online you could get an email receipt with confirmation of your vote.

It’s the 2020s, it’s hard to understand how this isn’t already happening.

The red face bit is a chuckle, seeing as you've joined up recently, and now hold hands with the usual crew, it seems you're a fan of disappointment politics, which isn't healthy mate. I have asked the lads on the Socialist City forum and the ANTIFA City forum and none of them are admitting to it.

You wouldn't find me with any of those rightwingers. I'm an adherent of anarchosimplism and currently reside in a cave. I'm posting this via a dialup connection on a machine salvaged from a scrapyard. My political beliefs mean I'm only allowed one of each item though, so if I go for a walk I have to wear a slipper and a boot. I have just acquired a carrier pigeon to deliver my ballot to elect Mr Blobby as regional mayor.

I've also launched a campaign to modernise post to this system more generally, whilst at the same time invested in breeding Thief Pouter pigeons. If my plan comes to fruition by 2024 there will be an ultraleft asexual tri-racial anarcholesbian in each market town constituency.

I shall vote the way I’ve always voted; I’ll walk to the polling booth, get the ballot paper from the clerk, put my cross against whichever name I choose, put said ballot paper in the locked box and then walk home again!
Only if someone brings in a law to say I have to use a postal vote will I take what, for me, would be the lazy way.
Plus I would fight beforehand against any such law!


I think this is the first time I’ve posted in the politics sub forum but I feel very strongly about this. :-) Sorry.
