Jack Grealish

Personally he sounds like a complete arsehole but I watch him and think that, even without being coached by Pep, he instinctively understands Pep's way of working.

And I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to pursue an out-and-out striker this summer, as we seem to be managing quite well without one. We could wait for Haaland's release clause to kick in next summer then.
Only problem with that is that another year passing can lead to many things changing and Haaland’s the kinda guy we can’t miss out on

Of course don't have to HG player, but makes no sense selling foreign player for Grealish. I mean who would you sell for him?
I don't know.
Maybe he could replace Agüero or Fernandinho. Mahrez or Jesus if one leaves. Possibly even Ferrán could go on loan.

Which HG player would you swap? The only option is Raz (rest are defenders/GK) and I'd keep him over most of the players I just mentioned.

We have the Douglas Luiz £25m clause this summer as additional leverage, which would bring his price down a bit.

All I know is Pep loves this kid to bits and sees him as the rotational alternative to Sterling and long term for De Bruyne.

City always have a lot of irons in the fire but Grealish talk has never really gone away.

I know Nedum Onuoha is also adamant this will happen.

Sadly, I am not hearing new encouragement on Messi, but that was always a stand alone.

Grealish and Haaland, added to new left back, teams might as well give us the points now.

We won't wait.

I rate him but I'm surprised at the figures being discussed.

From a purely footballing point of view it makes complete sense as he can play anywhere across the front 3, as well as further back, quite seamlessly.

Although it wouldn't be great for the development of Palmer, McAtee, etc.

There is some talk Grealish negotiated a £70m buy out clause when he renewed last summer.

If you factor in City giving up the Luiz option to buy at £25m this summer, it is not beyond the realms Grealish would cost quite a bit less.

For me depends on Sterling's wage demands, he has 2 years left and is on already £300k a week.

If he asks far too much cash like £500k a week, then get Grealish

That’d be more reasonable but I just can’t fathom how we fit everyone in. Pep’s surely gonna end up with a few selection headaches over the season if we pull these deals off

Maybe, just maybe, it's a huge ploy from us to drive his price up for United?

Seems like we might be going big on Haaland, so I highly doubt we could afford both at £100m+ each.

United seemingly accept that they can't get Haaland so were possibly banking on Grealish being their big signing. We may be trying to price them out or at least raise the fee.

If not, I'd be happy with him in our squad I think he's quality.

they will buy Sancho for 60m instead.

I don't understand where there'd be room for him in the squad, particularly if we're holding out for Messi. I rate him very highly but not higher than what we have. Maybe Mahrez but he's on great form and surely doesn't want to go anywhere.

Christ, he'll have a job getting games if he's the rotation option for a player who can't get on the pitch right now!

I'm assuming we have interested buyers for Douglas Luiz, to be able to hold it over Villa's head?

It makes you wonder who the Fern replacement would be.

Do you think we'll move out any of our other attacking midfielders?

I'm sure the plan was to move Mahrez on this summer but in this form it's unlikely.

Maybe a year on loan for Torres? It would be unusual but as he wasn't a huge investment, maybe there's less pressure to deliver in the short term?

how will the rags finance all that though if they were briefing about not getting haaland and the drop in finances with rising debts?

They say Haaland is too expensive because they need to do so much business. I'm sure if they sell Lingard, Dalot, Jones, Pogba, that will give them a decent kitty.

They also have Mata out of contract and could even sell De Gea.

They have money - they just don't have fuck you money.

I have a feeling we aren't going to get a LB.

The Portuguese press are talking a lot about Nuno Mendes being signed and arriving a year later, and I can definitely see that happening and the forum losing their minds.

I just don't see us shifting Mendy, and Pep was very positive about him last week, especially about his attitude around the squad. Can easily see him being kept behind Zinchenko and Cancelo.

It would make sense to utilise Mendy for one more year while that kid develops in portugal again tbh
