Everton (FA Cup) Post Match Thread

Exactly! Oh, and time wasting from the first minute.
Sorry for yourself and the EFC fans. I would have wanted you to win it if you'd gone through but honestly, you deserve more after the money spent. ;)

Of course we do but if you look at what it was spent on its a waste. Im personally frustrated we didnt go at you but thats why im not a manager! One of the worlds best managers set up like that as he felt it was the only way to get (sneak) a 1-0 win so I cant doubt him.

Anyway hope you go on and win it!

Taken from the MEN match report regards the first goal

"the Belgian surged into the box only to be brought down on the edge. Cue an unlikely intervention from Laporte, in the box for some reason and latching onto the ball to fire at"

Did the reporter actually watch Laportes run in the build up ffs

It is already annoying that kev and zin look quite similar. Add to that both now roaming all over the pitch and out of their typical positions. And then we have this font that makes the 7 in 17 not that different from 11 from a distance and in motion. Genuinely couldn't work out which was which at times.

Gundog is a great interviewee isn’t he? Quietly spoken, articulate and intelligent.

Aren’t we the luckiest fans in the world? We have the greatest players, the greatest Manager, the greatest owners, the greatest staff from top to bottom and the very greatest fans.

Not that I want to go OTT but hey it’s all true. :-)
So true. I love him more every time I hear him.

I love winning those types of games. We dug deep and deserved the result.

Fantastic performance by the team. We never looked like conceding unless by a fluke. Solid solid performance.

Sterling does not warrant a place in the starting 11. Kev is back and Gundo is still whipping them up.

Special mention to Fern. He absolutely can still perform for us. 1 year extension is a must.

Got the job done

I know a lot of managers park the bus with us but you can tell the difference when a top tactician does it with some nous like Ancelotto did. Obviously did his homework again and nearly got a reward for it. Really like that bloke

Indeed,I’m not complaining about wanting you to go toe to toe just show a bit more endeavour and cut the snidey fouls and play acting,it’s a quarter final not last match of the season were you need a point to stay up,by the way make that keeper no 1 he’s head and shoulders better than Pickford and that’s only seeing him after one game ..
He's third choice.

I thought Everton played very well indeed. They had a clear game plan and put it into effect as well as they could but that starting eleven of ours is full of quality and played with real belief and patience. And when you can wear a side down and tire them out for 80 minutes and then bring Levin de Bruyne on it must demoralize an opponent completely. Another victory for a relentless, exceptional team.

14 consecutive away wins. 17 unbeaten away
