Denis Zakaria

That's where all the transfer talk ends.

Not really....a cautious approach (and thorough medica) for sure, but his recent performances suggest he isnt ready for the knacker yard just yet.

At that price, and being as confident as possible that the recovery isnt temporary, any risk is probably worth it.

Just a guess but I’ve said before that I suspect we may not even sign a traditional specialist DM to replace Ferna but look for someone who, like him, is a good all rounder/box to box player with both attacking and defensive attributes and who can be coached into the DM/deep lying role but retaining their other talents. Someone like Tielemans would fit that profile better than a destroyer type such as Ndidi.
Agree with you there apart from Tielemans (not that I don’t think he’s a good player, just as Aguero says, not too keen on his defensive ability .

from what ive seen from him in when he played us he just isn't good enough. immobile, basic passing, very similar profile to Javi Garcia when he played for us

can’t see it. We’d have done that deal last summer if it was happening methinks.
just something their chairman said when arsenal were after him, something about a transfer in the long term/in the future, just got a feeling he was talking about aouar to us, could be wrong, just a hunch

People said the same about Dinho when we signed him tbf
Never saw that mate so wouldn’t know , didn’t know much about him at all myself really other than people saying the things you described , ie a good all rounder , box to box, good in both defence and attacking, but for me it’s more about the ability read the game and to cover ground defensively, which Fern is excellent at , I’ve watched Tielemans far more than Dinho and I just don’t see that in him .

At 20m it seems too good to pass up.

I actually like this deal more and more because I've heard Gladbach fans say he can play defensive midfield like Rodri, but has also played well as a center back, and you know how Pep likes players who can play in multiple positions.

Considering we often shift to a back 3 also, I can in a weird way see this as a long term Walker replacement since he plays on the right side of our back 3 (as well as being Rodri's backup).

Less players who play more positions means more minutes for all.
