Bands at half time - 1992ish

Anyone remember Burnley away, bank holiday Monday back in the days when the Goat ran riot every time he played them, the Royle or Keegan promotion season?
They brought on a local Tenor at half time who, after being greeted with a chorus of ‘You fat bastard’ from the City end, started singing Nessun Dorma, only to be drowned out by boos, whistles and jeering.
Next thing, his microphone packed up. As he waved his arms and slapped it repeatedly, the City end gave him a rousing chorus of “You're not singing anymore”.
He finally got another mic, finished his song to another accompaniment of jeers and whistles even louder than the first.
He finished the song then gave our end the Vs as he waddled off the pitch

Remember a plastic liverpool "fan" from school accomponying us to a game at Maine Rd some time in late 80s. He'd never been to a game before and asked in all seriousness if there would be a brass band at HT. As this is what he wouldve seen watching cup finals and internationals live.

Arsenal actually used to have a brass band performing at matches at Highbury.Think they still had them until late 70s/early 80s?
Wonder if the Tuba player ever said to the Trombone player 'got any Vera's?' In any of those type of bands?.
WTF is this poster going on about?
Just looked at the lyrics to the earlier mentioned Ebeneezer Goode
by The Shamen who 'sang' the song at half time during a City match, seems the song is pretty much 'loaded' with drug references!!

Definitely there in 1978. We ended up in the Clock End but the band were in the lower bit of the East Stand and we walked past them. Lost 3-0 unfortunately. Well remember the Shamen!!

Just seen a video on YouTube of Undercover doing Baker Street at half time v QPR , first ever MNF on Sky in 1992 . Did we ever have any other bands playing at half time back when Sky first started showing footy ? I would normally of gone for a wee and a pint
Bloody hell, I always thought it was D,Ream. Did we have sky diving as well.

The band was the Metropolitan Police brass band, and were a regular fixture at the ground. The first time I went to Highbury was the 1967/68 season, and they were there then.
