Erling Haaland

Clearly he wouldn't be offered that now,but he was deemed worthy of such a contract when the club expected him to push on from his brilliant form at the time.
Haaland will certainly want parity,at least.
Yes but I get the impression Sterling will still seek an upgrade. I could be wrong. He would be wise to bite City's arm off if they offer him an extension at the current salary. I don't think he will get it anywhere else.

Sign a contract extension on what you are already on? or run down the contract, move elsewhere for free, get a fat signing on fee and a decent contract as no transfer fee has changed hands?

Cracking goal scorer, physical presence, great in the air, pace going forward. Down side, no interest to track back/win the ball back. Meanders around the pitch. Is he a Pep player?

To be fair the team's tactics was to drop off. I would be happy with Haaland or Kane at City. My preference is Kane, because he is proven in our league and also Delap would learn so much from him

It is totally naive to write off big clubs spending big and having no money. Never been an issue before.

I don't see us selling sterling, no way. Not becsuse other clubs have no money, but because our club want him here.

Regardless, 70m is a ridiculous selfselected hypothetical undervaluation of our player, just like 15m for zinchenko is, or other such examples, in a market where harry kane is assumed to be worth 120m and other players go for big asking fees.

Thats all I'll say on this somewhat pointless tangent.
Previously, I’d agree re:ability to spend, however, lenders will be more risk averse due to uncertainty over revenue from match day income... it will play hugely on turnover for the foreseeable so will naturally impact ability to borrow, the Barca’s, Madrid’s and vermin’s of this world are in limbo because of it, make no mistake it restricts their ability to borrow against!

Sterling shouldn't be on 300k if he's not an automatic starter, simple as that. Nevermind getting an increase, which he is apparently requesting. It's a funny situation.
Alarm bells should be ringing here imo. We don’t want an arsenal situation. Ozil was a disaster and now aubameyang might be added to that list. If sterling has of field issues with agents etc then I hope the club make him wait until his form and contribution improves before a shiny new deal is offered. The only issue is that if we don’t act now he might run down his contract. It seems to be a popular option now with elite footballers.

Salah, Kane and Rashford are all on £200k. The only outfield players in the PL on more than £300k are KDB and Bale. Son is on £140k. We have to be very careful with the level of pay we set.

I posted in another thread some 2020 PL player wages but I will copy it below because it's relevant:
Bale 600k a week. thats bizarre.

Exactly, yet some are unbelievably claiming he did nothing.....which is very odd.He is also the only player i have witnessed bully Dias, for that alone he needs signing!

A spine of Dias,Rodri and Haaland makes us monstrous in every

So what are Pogba and De Gea on, how do you know everybody's wages.

The following site has the wages of athletes across many sports, this is the link for the PL:
Just select which club you want data for
De Gea is on £375k/wk
Pogba is on £290k/wk

(De Gea's incredible wages are very likely why United are looking to sell him?)

From what I can see they don't cite a source for EPL wages the same way they do for the American sports. I don't trust this for accuracy.

That's clearly all made up bollocks.

No **** knows what players earn and no **** should care.

No, they are selling him because they have continued a trend of rewarding mediocrity... he was abysmal before the wage bump and declined further since!

Not sure if it's been leaked, or it's legitimately in the public domain, perhaps from FFP or accounts submissions? They don't do it for any other football leagues that I can see. It says its from 2020 wages payroll.

The site certainly seems legit it focuses on wages from elite sports players across the globe. I suppose the PL is the leading football league and of most interest?
