I think that is a red card challenge but I also think this ref is being told what to do by another official. He was late with the free kick on Zinchenko and late with the yellow on Stones.

So is Pep fault that Stones mentality cannot handle rotation?

Rotation is part and parcel of the game. Plus, Stones hasn’t had a great injury record so it’s understandable that he’s not risked every game.

He was 10 milliseconds late, it always look worse in super slow motion after fifty replays, and the ref feels like he has to change his mind when he’s called over to the telly. Still, Stones needed to judge that better, and was taking a chance he didn’t need to take.
