Never a red. Both making a genuine attempt for a 50/50 ball. Stones was in control at all times, his standing foot on the floor. The Villa player got there a fraction of a second first. Yellow yes, nothing like the sending off for Leeds where the Leeds player was out of control with two feet off the floor.

It's a clear red but why oh why to make something like this in the CENTER of the pitch???
Damn, the way we were playing today we would have won 1-4 but now we will suffer. :(

Based on what? If you’re singling him out for the Leeds game then I’m sorry but the first goal is Cancelo’s fault and the winner is Ferna’s for not getting back into line in time. He was literally THE only person driving us forward that game.
The Dortmund game he was absolutely fantastic with Dias and didn’t get Haaland a sniff bar that first goal.
It’s not Fifa ffs we can’t win to nil every game
Mistakes have started creeping into his game. He would not have acted so rashly before the international break. I am not blaming him solely but his mistakes have so far cost us a goal and now possibly the match.

It’s a red. It’s not just how high the challenge is. Look at the intent as he goes steaming in. It’s a fucking idiotic challenge. Getting yourself sent off in that way on the half way line is fucking braindead behaviour.
All day long. He was caught napping

Yes, but reckless is a yellow. It needs to be excessive force for a straight red. It wasn’t excessive force, he was only trying to kick the ball.
It's one of them where if you get a bit of the ball you prob get away with a yellow, but he didn't.

My problem is there's no consistency.

sacrifce mahrez potentially...our of the front 4 he has a lower work rate and is elast effective at pressing from the front......Bernardo, foden and Jesus all better at pressing.

No Mahrez - we need 10 workers now. To be fair I thought it was Mahrez who lost possession didn't track back and left John exposed - being so far out it was reckless and I get why Pep is furious because as a player he knows it was not a stamp movement more a mis-timed effort to get the ball. Can also understand having made contact with the guys knee ( slight and made a meal of) why he was sent off. Just hope we batter these now - I can't stand teams who think wasting time after 5 mins is entertainment.
watching mahrez the past few months, he works has absolute balls off and he's far far more likely to get us another goal of villa push up. Everything else you've said I can't argue with

Fixed it for you.

:)

Its a yellow and that's it. Nowhere near enough force. Not lunging studs up and not off his feet. The contact is a result of the follow through. If that's a red card there's 10 every game.
Stitched up again.

How is this a red card, particularly with the benefit of the doubt. But it is even more amazing people comparing it with Cooper, who went full force Jesus keen buckled on impact. Fuck, KdB was smothered like this 7-8 time in the last two seasons. So let's see what are we made of?
