When I moved to Aus & you realise just how partisan the sports coverage is, you sit laughing as the interviewer at the Olympics would be “Michael Phelps that’s 7 gold medals & 7 world records but what about our Aussie swimmers, aren’t they great?”

You then realise that maybe the rest of the world were not captivated by Daley Thomson or Torville & Dean which then makes it an even bigger shit show when you see uk broadcasters cheering on Johnny Foreigner.

Ha, yes same in NZ, but you expect that on the international stage. Last night's sports news led with Chris Wood's hattrick followed by City's Cup Win (I get that though, first kiwi to score a hattrick in England's top flight).

I can't picture a scenario when they would actively want a team outside NZ to beat a NZ team, same for Australia. The coverage of domestic and Super Rugby (when it's NZ teams against each other) is very non partisan.

I always find the NRL and AFL coverage to be very good, of course there are always exceptions like Bosnich and his nonsense when covering the A-League.

The journo on the Monday Night Club on 5live, Rory something? Questioning how Pep could be regarded as the best manager of his generation when he hasn't won a CL for 10 years.
Ferguson won 2 in 30 plus years, the same as Pep has done so far, and he's often touted as one of the greatest ever. Different rules I suppose?

Yea one was a bully who threatened the press/media. A big fish in a small pond back than.

One is a nice guy who isnt a bully. And far more successful in 3 different countries. Has broken premier league record after record

Funny how the press/media are still scared of an retired 80 year bully.

Ah yes, Red Rory. His liverpool supporting heritage is always there, not far below the surface, if you listen carefully.

What change in style of football did Fergie bring to English football? Pep won all these trophies and his teams will still be talked about long after he’s gone, Fergie never created anything like Barcelona between 2009-2011. In fact he had a front row seat as probably the best group of players he had were destroyed by Pep in two champions league finals.

You have to realise that Pep being regarded as the best rather than Uncle Jurgen destroys the narrative that Liverpool are the world's bestest ever team, especially after their exciting record breaking two seasons on the bounce chasing hoofed long balls like a pack of deranged mutts. Look at the flack some of the media, including Carragher, have given a caretaker coach for what they normally call 'not getting stuck in' against City at Wembley. I really wouldn't want to know what actually goes through their minds, it wouldn't be very pleasant, but at least we should be glad to know every every City win and every tiny bit of praise for Pep seems to drive them even closer to the edge.

Theyve described Liverpool as going through a period of domination, wtf do they describe our period as?

A posh style of Wimbledon !

Put it this way since Pep became our manager he has won

3x Premier League
1x FA Cup
4x League Cup
2x Community Shield

That's 10 domestic trophies in 5 years and don't forget he only won one trophy in his first season.

He has obilerated the best winning percentage in the premier league 74% The next best is Ferguson at 65%

Also put it this way Klopp has managed Liverpool 215 times in the league obtaining 449 points Pep has 434 points and has managed 30 games less which is almost a full season

He has absolutely dominated this league but the press here are too blind to see that and pander to the red teams.

I’ve just been reading the supposed shortlist for The Premier League Hall of Fame 23 man shortlist. There are 5 players on it who played for City past their peak and aren’t on the list for what they did at City.
I was shocked when looking at the list there was no Kompany, captained City to 4 PL titles, however Vidic, Adams, Campbell, Terry, Ferdinand are all on it.
Also no Silva, 10 years service, also 4 PL titles.
Finally no Sergio!!!! Scored the most iconic PL goal of all time, most hat tricks, leading foreign scorer and also FOUR PL TITLES.In ahead of him, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen & Van Persie who combined won 2 PL titles and have all scored less than him in the league.
Le Tissier is in the list who was a fantastic player & was loyal to Southampton but I am wondering what the criteria is?
Maybe with time they will add City players but those 3 should surely be on the shortlist now.
What stands out Is the amount of Rags and Arse players, basically confirming the PL was a 2 team league for a long period, all forgotten now.

At least you could argue there is a "big 6" now with others pushing to join.

The next batch of retired nominations will be spread across more teams.

if he used google translate then yes.

The one reason I struggle, well one of the reasons, in learning Spanish is the way they formulate their sentences.

See the black dog, comes out in English as See the dog black

ver el perro negro

I mean why they can't just say the cheesy bell end like us is anybody's guess :)
Bloody Jonny foreigner with his own language. Some of them even at the end of the sentence the verb put. Damn cheek.
