So if we win tomorrow, and the rags only draw on Sunday how many points do we need to win the league

I’m actually particularly looking forward to watching us relatively stress free tomorrow after the high stakes drama of midweek and the Tuesday to come, and our alternative line up. Cannae wait!
 
So convinced that's its over that I hope we play we weakest team possible and I'll also be supporting Utd v Liverpool. Defeat leaves them struggling for CL which is anout an 80M hit to their finances.

If we win a draw pretty much does the same thing, no blue should ever be wishing they win.

We should nail our game tomorrow, then we pretty much have 4 games off to concentrate on 2 games.

Oh by the way the lowest we can now finish is second.
 
Question: didn't PL make a rule that if two teams have equal points, than the team which beats the other wins the league, goal diff does not count? If this is true, MU wins the league if points are equal to city.

No, the head to rule rule only comes in if two teams finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored - previously if that happened there would be a play off game to decide the outcome.

The reason so many think the head to head rule replaced G/D is because it was poorly communicated by many in the media.

Would it be weird to say that I don't want us to win the league this weekend? What I mean is, I always want us to win and I always want United to lose, but I'm sure most would agree that it's not quite the same kind of celebration when you're declared winners as the result of another game in which you're not involved.

Having read that back, maybe I'm being a bit of a spoilt brat but I do think a 'moment' when you win the league by scoring goals in a game yourself is the way you want to win it. Not that I'll be sobbing if we win it through Sunday's result but...

I don't understand your reasoning. I want my team to be successful above anything else.

There are numerous examples I could think of where wanting a Utd win could help us. Number one for me is always how a result could affect City. Liverpool missing CL next season could be huge for us. They lose approximately 80M don't sign their target players so becomes weaker meaning they might not qualify the season after as well.

Quick example did you want Liverpool to beat Utd in season 18-19? City were 3 points behind when the game was played. The game finished 0 -0 and as you know we ending up winning the league by a point. So if Liverpool win that game they win the league instead of us and Utd lose a point and still finish 6th.

Sounds more like a plea to the money men at Liverpool more than anything.

There were strong rumours of a boardroom row in January with Klopp not happy at being given pennies for defenders when he wanted to buy top quality.

Without van Dijk, Klopp has never finished higher than fourth and has never won a trophy. I’m lead to believe van Dijk’s been injured for quite a lot of this season (can anyone confirm this, I haven’t actually heard this from a reliable source anywhere?!) and they’ve struggled again.

None of Klopp’s other centre halves would even make our bench for an early round EFL Cup trip to Forest Green Rovers. It’s no wonder he’s been getting frustrated with having to look at Preston North End and bottom of Bundesliga clubs for van Dijk’s partner or stand-in.

It’s not like Liverpool are cash-strapped, they earn more money than we do!
 
A draw in the Liverpool-United game would be perfect. Keeps the pressure on Liverpool for European qualification, means we can win by playing, and above all, no distraction just before the PSG match.
