It is unlikely that the postponed game between Manchester United and Liverpool could be played after the end of the season due to the proximity to the delayed European Championships, which begin on June 5. [Henry Winter]

Manchester United won't face any punishment as the match was called off on safety grounds, after yesterday’s protests against the ownership of the club by the Glazer family, and thus United are not in breach of any Premier League rules. [Henry Winter]

The broadcasters who were meant to show the game should calculate the lost revinue due to the postponement and that's how much utd should be fined.
Then play it without cameras on Hough end Saturday morning.

"Oil money"? Hmm. Interesting take from a City fan.
Boy were we lucky, a lot in common with Jed, Faversham everybody !

Oil money?! We earn between £450-600m a year, none of which comes from oil! We haven’t spent a penny of the Sheikh’s investment fund (not oil money for fuck’s sake!) for nearly a decade!

We’re also about to have a new campus and shirt sponsorship deal to increase our revenue to take us even further away from ever needing “oil money”.

These Rags aren’t protesting over the Glazers, they’re protesting because they got giddy thinking they were going to win the league again this season and they haven’t. They’ve seen their arse about it and the realisation has hit them yet again that they aren’t top dogs anymore and City are. They're protesting because they’re deluded in thinking football clubs should always remain at the top. They’re protesting because they’re insecure about the fact that football clubs cannot always remain at the top.

They’re just using the Glazers as their excuse.

Do you think for one second that these silly Rag idiots would be protesting if you added their 10 seasoncard price freezes in 11 years, their biggest transfer spending in England, their biggest wage bill in England, being given 2 all-time great coaches since Ferguson left, 12 trophies since the Glazers became owners, the biggest revenue streams in England... to the idea that if there was no Manchester City at the top of the league, United would be heading for another league title with a 4 point lead over Leicester with a game in hand?!

Did you see United fans backing us in the 90s when we were trying to oust Swales? Or Lee?

Did we fuck, they just kept updating that banner:
View attachment 15748

They’ve been behind putting their top men into influential positions in the G14 and then UEFA to stop City’s progression. They were part of the group behind FFP, behind trying to get City banned from UEFA competitions and that letter last year.

FUCK ‘EM!
Nicely put mate.

Not sure if anybody has pointed this out but why hold a protest like this on the day that football goes dark on social media ? Surely the point is to gain as much awareness as possible but then I suppose we are dealing with United.

watch a few city fans go to etihad to celebrate winning some trophies & watch the media fall out. The media support for this protest is eye opening

Well there’s a fucking surprise.

It seems like my post has been taken wrongly by a minority.
At end of the day we are all meant be football fans, as much as we dislike united, Liverpool etc. We shouldn’t be in joy that their clubs are getting ruined by greedy businessmen.
You never know 1 day maybe our oil money dries up and we are bought out by a greedy American owner who bleeds the club dry. We wouldn’t like that , it’s about protecting the game, protecting football and what is right.

There is no class in kicking the enemy when they are down because we are ok. You never know what is round the corner.

Football has been around a longer time then all of us alive today. If things don’t change regarding rules and ownerships then football as we know it will not survive. The rich will get richer , clubs which are the beating heart of cities will seize to exist, the game will be ruined. We need all be united against this and stand up for what’s right about football.
The clubs belong to the fans !
bravo, more more

Because United failed to keep a load of their marauding fans outside the stadium.

If nothing happens to either their fans or the club, that's basically saying it's okay to do it again.

a serious question why couldnt it be played today ? games have been played 24 hr later due to weather etc
It should have been, I assume the line is 'security issues'.

It should have been played behind closed doors, with just cameras there to show the highlights after the match but Sky and Premier League want that money of course.

not in breach of any premier league rules ? So someone letting in fans or fans breaking into a stadium isnt against the rules. I would have thought that all stadiums had to be secure, utds wasnt. Surely its down to utd to make sure no one can get into the swamp. Utd couldnt so should be punished

if no punishment its a free for all than and theres nothing that can be done as the prescient has been set

So that means that in the future any match called off when hooligans invade the pitch or attack the police will not result in a sanction for any club if a match is "called off on safety grounds." I actually think Winter is ok as a journalist but that just can't be true can it? Has Winter actually checked to see that rule exists or is it just part of the media spin. It's just another fake narrative.
What if a stand collapsed (killing people) because of neglect by a club and forced the cancellation of a fixture on safety grounds? So the PL has no rules to sanction clubs in these sort of cases. That's just bollocks.

The sad facts are united was never in debt till 2005 when the glazers took over and put them in debt.
Owners shouldn’t be able to do this and the fact they take dividend payments out of the club is morally wrong.
I understand the united fans frustration and I believe all of us as fans should unite to stop these evil people ruining our football clubs.
At least post a few fake pro city messages before going for the jugular

Would be piss funny if it happened, they have broke rules as listed in this article. Rules are rules.
