Apart from the PL rules that say clubs can be held responsible for their fans' behaviour and that clubs have to ensure safe access to the stadium for players, officials and broadcasters.
 
They could just rearrange the fixture for the day after the season ends and have it as an annual season closer and give the winner a trophy. Give both of them a trophy, fuck it. Call it the 'Istry Boys Big 2 Grandfathers of Football European Royalty Trafford and Merseyside Sky TV Super Cup. Come on, it's what all us fans of lesser clubs really want!

Unfortunately, they can’t be banned from the Thursday Night Cup, as it doesn’t fall under the Premier League’s (nor the FA's) auspices.

However, I do think they should receive a points deduction, otherwise any team's supporters, with a grievance, will do exactly as the insufferable twats did in Trafford yesterday, knowing that they are immune from sanctions.

Bollocks. It’s the second time in 4/5 years they have failed to fulfill a fixture at a moments notice, they got away with it the first time but can’t now.

Well:

K.14.1. means of access to and egress from the Stadium prior to and after the League Match;

is one of the rules. Liverpool have been guilty of braking that one numerous occasions now with no real punishment. Admittedly in the different competition though.

It'd be piss funny if they started next season on minus points. It'd also be piss funny if the actions of their fans handed us the title by getting them a points deduction.

Rags fans wet themselves with joy thqt they could make shitloads off the stock market float and hoover up all the best players.
