Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Reece James is some player, mind you he was only up against Mendy, lol
Good thing I read after them comma :) Exactly it was Mendy down the side was a tough watch, On occasions Ake should of covered but we could all see what was unfolding.
James is bang average in my opinion. Mendy looked Helder Costa look like Maradona a couple of seasons back away at Wolves.

They need nine unless they win each game about 3-0.

However, I'm fuming with the whole show. Nonsensical formation, players not good enough, showboating at penalties and then not safeguarding a point to edge us closer. Totally unprofessional from start to finish. From the lot of 'em!
Which is why 9 of them of them wont play in the final

Weird lineup from Pep but so many players still had stinkers - if the CL final lineup wasn't already decided then it is now

Lot of mard-arses on here need to calm down though. It was our second string, we played shite, we're still gonna win the fucking league.

And the final will be completely different to today - Walker's pace and Zinchenko will nullify the only two threats they had today and actually having a midfield -might- just make us more dangerous too

United need 7 points from 9 to keep it alive for them.
7 points from Villa a, Leicester h, Liverpool h, this run of games between tomorrow and next Saturday, so in 6 days only.

no fucking way they do 7 points imo.
Bookmarked

Shite attitude. This only means that a stronger side has to be played next week, against a confident Newcastle with nothing to lose. And it's a week closer to the final. Two important games against Chelsea and Pep picks the 2nd string and we lose them both. I'm wondering whether I'll be opening my bubbly at all this season.

We will defo win the PL or the CL.

The fact Pep would be sacked if we won neither will give the players motivation at least see out the PL.

Too many of the players were suffering from misplaced over confidence today.they need a reality check.

What pisses me off most is home losses to Chelsea and Leeds in the last couple of minutes. We should have settled for a point in both of these games and the league would have been done.
100% and in both games I've got my head around the bigger picture coming into the last few minutes that a draw is actually a good result...Then to be done in the end.

The way he’s played against us, that is more than chance. I have a feeling, and AIML is my area, that he has brought in AIML to data mine how our players play.

Because the difference between Pep and other coaches is that Pep has a rigid system. A brilliant and effective one, but a rigid one. Rigid systems are the easist to mine because the probability of chance is very low.

And a rigid system has a formula, or in my field an algorithm. Crack that formula and the weaknesses get found out.

Imagine how chess grandmasters get beat by AI, or Go grandmasters get bet by AI.

What I saw today was chelsea players knowing when to overcome our press and our patterns of passing. Its by no means perfect from chelsea, but it is stubborn.

What Pep has to do now is to read how Tuchel reads us. We won’t be able to read it from chelsea playing against other teams, because his tactic today was specifically for us. Hence why I believe Tuchel has got Pep’s number. Not by chance, but by hardwork in analysing our formula.
No, all Tuchel knows is how to beat our second string. Had we played the first XI today and got beaten, THAT would have been a psychological advantage to them for the final, but not this.

Besides, when we clinch the PL title that will give us a bigger lift. Also, everyones forgotten that Chelsea still have 2 finals to think about, which will be a distraction.

Exactly. If we struggled today with our strongest team, I would be bricking it for the final. Walker, Stones, Gundo, Bernardo, Kev, Phil and Mahrez all to come in. A complete different team to the last two that have played Chelsea. Pep knows Chelsea inside out now, as Tuchel doesn’t really alter his set up to much.
If we struggled with a full strength team they would learn they would have to step it up in the final and maybe make them more determined.

If I was

That wasn't near to Chelsea's first XI - are you aware of that ?
It was a helluva lot closer than City's. Either way this was merely gamesmanship from Pep. No reasonable person could think City aren't the better side when they line up like this:

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Zinchenko
Fernandinho
KDB
Bernardo
Gundogan
Foden
Mahrez

When City play that lineup the only way they lose is if they beat themselves.
