Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Just one thing to say. If we rely on penalties — even stonewall penalties that everyone appears to have seen except the ref and VAR (fuck, every neutral forum and even ones that are downright hostile to us like ragcafe were saying that it was nailed on) — we may well come a cropper in Istanbul.
Mind you, just as well that that team won't be playing there, eh?

For me, this result irrevocably severs the relationship I had with this club.

I am through with supporting City as I am simply not interested in corporate footballl when it entails playing a deliberately weakened side in this manner. This is what Colin Schindler wrote warned us about.

From now on I will follow local non-league sides near me. Couldn’t give a fuck about either the premiership or champion’s league if it gets won like this.

Lol must be a wum !

You do realise the title is 99.9% in the bag.

Do you really think Pep would have played that side if the points gap was closer or we were chasing.

I think the saddest thing about today is that Aguero has probably made up Pep's mind about him.

I'm 100% confident the league will be won soon and Aguero will captain the team for the last match against Everton. But that will likely be the extent of it.

Would Pep throw him on near the end of the final if a goal is needed? Probably. Maybe.

Oh dear......good luck pal

Are you mad?

Just today would have done.

What a confidence boost winning the League today would give the starting 11.

Today has given the squad nothing apart from doubts and the realisation that some players are not good enough. Players that may have to start the final because the League campaign is dragged out and incurring the risk of injury to the "proper" players.

Having said that "up the Villa" but today is still a massive fuck up on our part.
That eleven have just had the confidence boost of reaching a champions league final; I don’t think they needed any boost today.

Boo hoo.

Tuchel has been their, Done fuckall and got a runners up medal.
All faith in Pep in this final.
Yeah of course...but tuchel is a decent manager....this chelsea team is hard to beat...set up and drilled well and have the pace on the break to cause us problems....

strongest 11 vs 11 and we should win BUT it will be a very very hard game....Chelsea under Tuchel are defensively excellent and a real threat and football aint played on paper....

Bollocks. You win by being the best over a season, finishing with the most points. When you win it doesn't matter. It might be more exciting to win it when you play on the day but it's nothing to do with what anybody else does or when, as long as you're the best over the season. You do know how it works, don't you?

What happens if we play our best team until the end of the season, still need the last one to get over the line and we're fuicked for the CL final?

So far we have the League Cup for the 4th time running, we've all but won the League, semis of the FA Cup and Final of the CL - so who exactly are we second class to?

God know how some of you lot would have coped when we went down to the 3rd division.
Nah not having that. Nothing to do with being a crap fan. All most of us are saying is that its reasonable to make 3-4 changes even 5 but that was way over the top from Pep today. We had a chance to give Tuchel something to worry about and wrap up the league. Then we could've fucked about playing the likes of Mendy in dead rubbers but no we hand Tuchel another advantage over us and now we have to wait a little longer for the title. Newcastle wont be easy, you saw how they dispatched Leicester. The rags are somehow getting results and I expect them to keep doing so. Just hope Pep has finally learned this lesson of making too many changes. He's a genius but sometimes he try's to be a little too clever.

*I'm flapping just a little*

Hahaha, at least some on here have a sense of humour. Nice mate, cheered me up this.

Its fair point, title decider and doing that.
Shouldn't have stepped up unless he was confident, no way had he planned on a Panenka before the game!

We've put out 2 shit teams against this lot who are not great and they have won 2. Gives them a huge psychological advantage for the Final.

No defending that bollocks today.
Not a title decider in any way.
There are still 9 points available and we only need 3.
Sergio should have gone to burst the net but he didn't.
Perhaps we should have had another penalty, but didn't get it awarded.
Chelski won but could have just as easily lost (and against a team that is nothing like the one we will field in the C/L final).
Fine margins.

I’m only voicing my frustration. I thought today was a shocker. That’s my opinion and probably not yours. But I respect your opinion and will always respect another Bluemooners point of view.
If we were In a pub I’d shake your hand and buy you a pint. We are all frustrated. That’s all it is.
To be honest i feel exactly the same way as you and something has been lost in the translation. I am of the exact same opinion and was voicing my frustration at people on a forum who tell others to shut up, which is antithetical to the whole idea.
I would take that pint!!
