Harry Kane

Forget the price for now......I'm asking why you werent impressed with him over the 2 legs?
But the price tag has to come in to it were you so impressed you thought he was worth 150 million regardless whether he sets his own price tag or not, I wasn’t is what I’m saying

That hasn't answered my question, but as its clear you don't have one....no worries.

We say he would score a lot of goals at City, we say the same for Haaland but will they put the required shift in that Pep expects of his forward stroke winger stroke midfielder etc?
You just need to go back and watch Haaland playing for Salzburg, which is one of the most aggressive pressing team in Europe for the past few years. He worked his ass off.
Dortmund isn’t a pressing side by their own choice, but he has (naturally, given aging) improved as a striker there, so you mix up his pressing at Salzburg to the striker he is now, and that is exactly what made Pep gush about him after our two encounters with Dortmund. “He will be stronger in the future”.

Little Ole will probably be silly enough to give Levy £150 million so they can show all their plastic fans in Malaysia that they must be a big club as they have England’s top striker.

Hate to be that guy, but I’m not a fan of comments like this. I am a fan in Brazil and we have a strong, organized, knowledgeable community of fans all over the country who have been with the club for many years. I’m also constantly in close touch with the fans in Argentina, and they are the same. Equating that “fans from (insert random foreign country)” are plastic just doesn’t sit well with me.
I know you didn’t mean this in a bad way, but maybe it’s because you’re not familiar with how dedicated we are

Very true, there are lots of very knowledgeable and loyal fans of many European clubs abroad - just none of the glory hunting rag fans!

Torn with this one as I agree Levy would demand an insane fee for a 28 year old with ankle issues that are only likely to get worse with age.

On the flip side we are only likely to have Pep for another couple of years at the most. This is a great squad of players with the best coach we will ever have. We need to get the most out of Peps last few seasons, if we can’t get Haaland then Harry Kane is ready made to come into this side and get 30-35 a season and more if he stays injury free. He could ensure our domestic dominance for another 2-3 years. His all round game would fit our system - he doesn’t press any less than Sergio Aguero has under Pep and he links up with others better.

There’s the ridiculous fee vs the impact a world class striker would have in Peps last few years at the club and the other thing to consider is the impact he could have if he signed for United or Chelsea and we failed to get Haaland.

Haaland v Kane.

Both fabulous players. Nonetheless, if I had to choose between those two, I’d say that on the grounds of deteriorating value - say over a 4 year period - I would say that on the specific issue of age, Haaland would be better choice.

Remember the fees PSG paid for both Neymar and Mbappe a few seasons ago were deemed to be outrageously expensive. If either players wanted a move or PSG were looking to move one of those on irrespective of the reason, both would still demand high transfer fees that would equate their net investment to a very satisfactory indeed.

in this respect Harry would have a noticeably bigger percentage fall in his value.

Isn't Mbappe currently available on a free next summer? Thats unimaginable really if you are PSG and maybe he is waiting to join Madrid, which would be incredible for them if he did.

If that is so then PSG have made a huge mistake when they signed him without putting in a sliding scale value season by season into the contract agreement.

Just looked and his contract expires June 30th 2022. Be crazy if they lost him on a free.

Even if they lose him on a free, they already made a shitload of money from him that easily made the investment worth it, let alone the intangible gains to their global brand. Yes, a fee would be great I’m sure, but for them, it doesn’t even make much of a difference

Im not so sure about that. A transfer fee of 150/200 million, or nothing. Pretty sure even with my basic business skills, thats a lot of money.

Real won’t pay 200M.
If there is a club that can afford to not get anything from a top player to keep him another year, it’s PSG. Even if just to save face

Kane this season and Haaland next for 65m

I suspect that is somewhat tongue in cheek, however,in case its not......We barely play with one striker, and even though Pep will likely amend his tactics again going into the new season,i very much doubt it will be a system that deploys two front men.

It would be fun to witness though ;-)

Both Kane and Haaland pose difficult challenges in regard to the potential negotiations, so maybe this simply comes down to which player pushes hardest

I'm certainly not in the know but I'd speculate that a lot of the Mbappe to Real talk was predicated on Real getting the ESL up and running (Barca and Real only met Mino re Haarland because they thought they were getting a big cash windfall) - in the absence of that cash injection - both Real (and Barca) are looking down the barrel of a gun in terms of their finances. Even if Real can get Mbappe on the cheap (final year of his contract) - will he want to go there? - ageing side, prospect of a CL ban? Can see Mbappe doing a Neymar and deciding to sit tight for a while at PSG. Regardless of what the media say - not too many clubs will be throwing mega money around this summer - too many losses and still too much uncertainty. As for Kane - I really think he's trapped at Spurs - just cant see a way out for him unless United can raise the cash for him but I think they'd have to find a buyer for Pogba - and I really cant see that happening in this market.
