In the angle that matters Akè is trying a sliding block not a tackle about two feet away from the opponent and the opponent slips on the turf and meets Ake's boot which drags him further on bringing him down . Judge it for yourselves

In my opinion it is a penalty. If Ake doesn't slide in the attacker can plant his foot and take a shot. Clear foul that would be given anywhere on the pitch in my opinion

Not sure anybody would look much good with Cancelo on one side and Garcia on the other. He's trying to do positive things but it just isn't working out for him today at all. Garcia is ok on the ball but rarely seems to get involved in any active defending. Walker has been like Walker usually is and Cancelo is ok going forward but he just isn't a LB.

We've been ok on the whole (defence apart) but look a bit short of ideas again going forward. Sterling should try going outside the full back a bit more. Everyone knows he's coming inside and they're ready for it and just take the ball off him. Going outside the FB would keep him guessing a bit more and at the moment it's the only way he's going to get past anyone.

Torres has looked ok but doesn't really look an out and out winger. I personally feel he would be better as a CF or on the left side. He certainly looks more of a goal threat than Jesus at the moment.

Central 3 aren't really exerting themselves too much or creating a lot.

I hope Pep picked this team on the basis that he just wants to satisfy himself as to why he’s leaving most of this lot out for the final

You can't tell by a still picture. Ake slides in underneath Joelinton's leg taking it out. The picture LOOKS like it's a stamp on the foot, but it's not.

We don’t. Have you watched the Eds games? Ake has been injured all nearly season and has had a handful of spaced out games. He’s a very good player who is making mistakes in games that don’t care because he’s massively rusty.
