André Silva

Can he strike like Sergio ?

Won't score as many goals from distance as Sergio and doesn't have the same level as ability but better in the air and has good all round ability.

Comparisons to Ings are foolish, Silva has featured heavily in all age groups for his national team and has always had the ability. Danny Ings is a journeyman poacher. Only players with more goals for the Portuguese national team than Andre Silva are Ronaldo and retired players.

Fact is we can't replace Aguero, world football no longer produces as many world class specialist strikers as in the past. When we signed Aguero he came from a strike partnership of two world class forwards and Atlético were lucky enough to replace them with another.

It is hard to imagine that situation being repeated again.

The technical requirements of strikers are greater now than in the past, players have to have much more to their game than just goals- they have to contribute to buildup player, be able to drift wide, drop short, track back and press etc.

If we were to sign Silva, I'd imagine we would keep Jesus and there would be no strict pecking order between them. It would only be based on performances and tactics. Even if it the Silva doesn't turn out to be a resounding success it could revitalise Gabby or push him to another level.

If we were to sign Mbappe or Haaland it would push him towards forcing a move. That may be a price worth paying but it is additional to the huge transfer fee and salary package.

We don't need a direct replacement for Aguero, we have already improved as a team and weaned ourselves of our reliance on him for goals, and created a stronger defensive unit at the same time.

If this transfer doesn't work out we have Gabby, Sterling and Ferran as alternatives or the option to go back into the market at a later date.

If we were to sign Mbappe or Haaland it would likely restrict out transfer business in other parts of the team. Then there are other factors such as their pace, intensity and playing styles make them susceptible to muscle injuries.

Two more goals on Saturday to officially become the highest scorer in a single season for Frankfurt, breaking a 44 year record to do so.

First goal, one of his trademark headers.

World class heading ability is something we are missing from our current attackers. Fantastic determination to get another goal near the end again, also did that against Leverkusen a few weeks back.

Unlucky for him that most of his teammates are a few levels below him, particularly the defence and DM. Too many draws, second only to Union Berlin (technically limited workhorses) for the most draws in the Bundesliga.

His current team won't be, but he should be playing champions league football next season.

He would be my second choice imo after Haaland, if we can’t get that deal done he could very well be a good plan B, and could certainly get 20+ a season in our team

i have a sneaky feeling we will end up getting Silva to be honest. Dortmund now have champions league sorted and are happy for sancho to leave rather than haaland? Plus we just wont pay the fee and thats the same with levy at spurs? No doubt we want Kane as well but we just wont go near £120m odd?
