Oh I didn't know that. They discounted united final by £200, I think it helped set this up to be honest, City going one better.
Ok, well for letting the stadium rot then.. ;-)

Yeah, I know mate. Into over £750 already (£599 2 day Sport Options trip plus £159 for a PCR test with 3 hour turnaround) so a day trip with the club doesn't actually offset it 100%!We don't know what the proportion is, but if you've got concerns you could write off your independent plans and travel with the club.
FWIW, I think you'll be fine
It’s a brilliant gesture by the sound of things. We need more information. I’m not sure why you are trying to turn this into a negative by writing about “placating fans”Could still be the case that the Portuguese government haven't budged on the bubble idea and the only way City could placate fans & ensure some will still qualify to be in the ground is by offering the free travel. Offering tickets to fans who have made their own way might not be an option City have.
Agree, I’m not on cup scheme and have 6500 points. Knew I had little to no chance of a ticket when I booked to go. As long as I can have a beer and watch the game I’m not arsed. It should be a great occasion. It should be done on Cup scheme and points and as I'm not in the CL scheme I don't have a dog in this fight.
Ive booked all of that on the presumption I have close to no chance of getting a ticket ! And can’t wait :)
It's not to keep the number of travellers down. They would do that through ticket allocations. It's to keep the number roaming the city for days at a minimum. If the day-trip idea was stipulated by the Portuguese government to keep the number of travellers down, it will backfire spectacularly.
Announce it at the start as the only way of getting there, you'd get 6,000 day trippers only. Leave it till 10 days to go, you get 6,000 day trippers PLUS another 3,000+ who have already booked elsewhere.
Doesn't make any sense to have left it this late if that was their concern.
Does anyone know how many people are on the scheme?I imagine it won't get past scheme and 16,000 points.
You can’t fault people who used their initiative but still, this is a magnificent gesture. I’m unlikely to get a ticket with 4,400 points but had I been in the 20k points camp I’d have organised travel myself too and (I’d like to think I would) still recognise this gesture for what it isBecause thousands have already booked trips and now fear they don't have a chance of getting a ticket. I'm sure no one is complaining about the gesture but the timing of it and how it affects ticketing is not great.
ive spent my years savings on going to the final. expensive tests, flights and hotels. now a bunch of people who werent bothered about going will jump on the freebie and probably destroy my chance of a ticket as well. How can anyone see this as a bad thing? The Portuguese government have obviously stipulated that 'the majority of fans with tickets have to be in and out on the same day'. They might even be in a bubble. So, knowing that this wouldn't be a popular option, the sheikh has done something amazing and covered the costs.
Those of you on the spike trip will have an amazing time. There are still loads of tickets available and how can you be annoyed that someone with more ticket points than you gets a ticket?
It's very salty to be pissed off that blues (who might have had a tough year) now have the opportunity to go to the final (which we are all absolutely desperate to be at) because the price has dropped substantially. No one should be priced out of the game, no matter how much it inconveniences you!
let us know earlier the whole thing fucking stinks they’ve known about this for a while but said fuck all, to say I’m annoyed is an understatement people now gloating oh I will go now fuck offIf the authorities are saying bubbles only what else can city they do. They have tried to soften the blow . Fans who have booked with no refunds will have a choice to make . No anyone’s fault only uefa. Should have played at Wembley and fecked off the gravy train delegates and sponsors
Sorry sir - absolutely NOT - the people with high points are the one's who've spent huge amounts in the past travelling all over Europe (Moscow, Kiev etc.). On some occasions the club didn't actually run a trip to get there.I think it should be a ballot for the tickets, same as with the Everton game. Not fair that only the people with high points get to benefit from Sheikh Mansour‘s gesture.
Fantastic no just trying to make right for the super league fiasco we’re customers now not fans fuck city I’m doneFantastic from our big boss man.
I feel for you guys who've put the yardage in and made your own arrangements as tickets will suddenly get much harder to get hold of.
ive taken this to heart a little as i was so excited and upbeat until now.We all are mate but you’re not allowed to moan about it, apparently. You have to take it on the chin how you have spent hundreds of pounds already and booked off holidays and spent hours booking stuff and generally getting excited about having a holiday after not having had a single day off work in over 12 months and yet your ticket is now prioritised to somebody else. Just smile and be happy for the free day trippers and the kindness of the Sheikh. That’s what I’m now doing.
