Just occasionally I allow myself a naughty look at an article in the Guardian when something pops up on newsnow.
The latest Conn job is the usual lazy, opportunist article filled with ifs, and assumptions with no reference to horse racing, formula 1 and other football clubs.
He doesn't know enough or can make enough money on either politics or football, so he straddles the two like a desperate colossus, but what does shine through, is the fact there is a champions league final coming up and he wants to piggyback on it, bit like the Russian world Cup.
The irony of these articles is the plea for money at the end.
Be a while before I venture there again. I've got enough broken old records.

Pretty much like united themselves then. Guffawing to themselves so much about the idea of their noisy neighbours being more successful than them, that they forgot to do anything about it and now have protests because they are not as successful as us.

Cole is right though. If you want to win trophies, be improved as a player and break records, city over united every day.

But if you want to play for the club with the most number of tweets and 'fans' wearing knock off replica shirts in Indonesia, a distinct lack of silverware, who finished second thanks to some agreeable refereeing and var decisions, with boardroom strife and funding question marks abound, then raggy bound you are.

Kane can have his face on kids bedspreads the world over. Or he can win trophies. Depends what he wants from his career to be honest.
Win on Saturday and we'll take a giant leap towards overthrowing them on the plastic fan record too... amazing what a difference winning the European Cup/CL does for that!

"Man United are the best fit for footloose Harry Kane, says state-of-the-art AI computer which analyses MILLIONS of stats... and says Pogba, Rashford and Fernandes would be PERFECT team-mates"

Have you ever read such laughable shite in all your life. Ok probably been other equally cringy stuff but this is up there. I am not even angry at it because, well just look at that title haha. I recall some of these super algotithms used the other year to predict the title winners, it got it wrong of course.

No need really to click the link, the title says all you need to know.

It's obvious clickbait.

If you click on it and share it then you've done exactly what they wanted.

I would love for Harry kane to go to man Utd. £150m, massive wages, and they still won't be as good as City.
If we land Kane the rags will pay anything to land Haaland, they will financially shit the bed with enormous wages and huge signing on fee for fear of being left behind.

I reckon we will have first dibs on either, they get what we don't need.

I'm 100% in agreement. I'm not actually that keen on him coming to city tbh, when harlaand is available. Why pay 100m+ for someone who's best days are behind them when you can pay 150m for someone who has 10yrs in him..

Not sure if the correct thread but I really like Joe Cole as a pundit. Maybe not in the same league as say nedum onhora or any other great pundits out there but he always seems fair to us and doesn’t waffle on with a load of shit. Was a really really great footballer too and had so much natural ability and his technique was outrageous as a young footballer. Probably didn’t make the correct choices on what clubs he went to as he should have achieved so much more than he did.

Until he says something vaguely critical and then he'll be hated on here.

Micah is the most vocal and prominent supporter we have in football media and the moment he isn't 100% praising us he get's criticised.

Good article in i online this morning by Neville Southall former Everton keeper (great keeper in his day, better to look at his earlier years than when he 'let himself go' later on though!!)
General theme of the article is about football not being the same without fans this season amongst other things.
Big Nev talking a lot of sense, says he thinks Pep deserves to win CL because what he has done so well at City after early season doubts. Southall also mentions how much the owners have done for East Manchester, and about City fans loyalty and the fact we were always here in the bad times.
It's fairly irrelevant who he wants to win on Saturday tbh, but it's refreshing to see the other comments. Southall isn't saying ground breaking stuff, he's just looking at stuff in a rational, considered, informed view as a neutral outsider

Sounds good. SOuthall produces some really good considered opinions. Some will disagree with his standpoint, but he can at least display his reasoning.

Ai Abacus... let’s look at the veracity of the Mails proposition in their article shall we children...

Now Ai Abacus may be a logic based system for assisting with player recruitment and development but their company still seems happy to quote the opinion of fuckwits on their website.

The mail have taken their headline from the opinion of that well known cockwomble John Barnes who was actually contributing opinion to a betting company - not even to Ai Abacus who merely quoted what he had said.

To save you looking this is the Barnes opinion as included in the Ai Abacus website.

“Earlier this week it was revealed that Kane had told Spurs he wanted to leave the club this summer and worse still, he wants to stay in the Premier League. With their spending power, ability to win trophies seemingly at will, and the fact they need to replace their star striker, City are favourites to sign the England striker.

Chelsea and United are also amongst the sides expected to make a move for the 27-year-old, and Liverpool legend John Barnes thinks Kane should pick one of those two sides.

"As far as the three clubs go, he should pick Chelsea or Manchester United rather than Manchester City," Barnes told Bonus Code Bets.
"If he goes to Manchester City, he is not going to be the player he is at Tottenham, because at Tottenham he is the creator, goal scorer and the focal point for everything.

"Chelsea and Manchester United need a centre forward. Manchester United have good players around them. They have got Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, but they really need a number nine.’

Those who have bothered to read my post with good eye will have noted that neither Pernandes or Pogba is even mentioned in the Barnes opinion but the Mail have managed to shoehorn them into their headline.

Typical bitter, City hating. See a spurious opportunity to kick City, dress it up with some dodgy provenance, publish and wait for the clicks. The Mail are really desperate aren’t they? Their standards and what pitiful integrity they currently grasp onto slips by the day.

The truth is irrelevant. Chasing clicks is where the action is.
