Chairman's Interview

"We've had our challenges"

Cuts to a scene where the screen in the Etihad say VAR....

The pep answer was just the typical media one, I wouldn’t read too much into it. It was essentially it’s two years away, neither ourselves or Pep are stupid enough to predict we’ll all still be happy and have already decided we want to carry on after that just yet
Hasn't Pep only got 1 season left on his contract? Ie leaving after this coming season?

Tunnel club members get a complimentary blow job whilst season card holders have to wank themselves off next season.

The calm confidence to know a CL Final is a big step for the club, but also feel like he knows that it was a missed opportunity that has whetted the appetite for another investment in AT LEAST TWO QUALITY ADDITIONS.

Spoke of the lack of liquidity (cash) amongst the top clubs in each of the top European leagues, thus the need for deals to be creative. Like others, that sounds like there might need to be done “horse-trading” offsets for key deals. One wonders if that means player exchanges or other, as yet unseen, structures to help make deals work.

As others have said, it sounded a little like Pep is a year to year thing, and that Khaldoon or Pep can pull that trigger whenever they need to. I was surprised how open he was about how down Pep was last year before he re-upped his deal, but that he came away feeling like this was going to be a big year.

I look forward to the next installment, and wonder what other insights he might be able to impart about the club.
Surely we don't lack liquidity?

Be interesting if they touch upon the super league in part two. You could see the hurt in his eyes and he looked tired to me. Not surprising really given the interview was the day after the Chelsea game. Good to see it means a lot to him we need that drive and passion to be as strong as ever if we are to get back to the champions league final.

The answer to the question about peps future was also telling to me, I took from that they expect this current extension to be his last at the club. But who knows just me reading far too much into it probably! I also agree with his sentiment that this is the golden period of the club, when pep leaves I think we will only then realise just how great he has been for us. He has normalised the abnormal just need that cherry on top of the cake
Three league titles in 4 years tells us all we need to know about Pep. He's the best.

Chelsea spent well in excess of £200m last summer it got them a CL trophy. Don't know how many players they sold, got rid of, as following what they do in a transfer window isn't really a priority of mine. However, there's no reason why we shouldn't spend big, acquire 3 key signings and maybe a squad player, sell those who don't want to be here, and promote one or two.

Always enjoy his calm, confident and professional manner.
Yes but Chelsea did have a transfer ban in place throughout the 19/20 season.
