I dunno, feels like sterling's got the power here, given the covid market I imagine he'll sit tight, we won't be able to sell this summer and then next year with 1 year left he goes pretty much where he wants with a couple of exceptions.

If he wants to stay that's different but not the vibe he's been giving off really.

He also knows that two years of bench warming and occasional Carabao Cup starts, on the back of a couple of seasons of decline, would effectively kill his career. He needs to be careful what he wishes for.

Its not exactly like that. After all tottenhem is a selling club. They have to sell one day or the other. They sold, walker, modric, bale but at a reasonable price. I remember with walker they were quoting the prices of some other defenders and sold in a reasonable price to us. Similar with modric and kane and even with berbatov and keane. Yes he milks maximum out of his players ( with selling money or service) but if he doesn't sell right time and right money then spurs next big player will not sign a long term contract.
Plus he has asked kane for final one more year last year. That didn't go well. He will not stand between kane and him winning trophies as he knows spurs aren't going to win trophies any time soon.

50m for Walker was not a reasonable price at the time, it's proved to be somewhat of a bargain, but most people thought we were utterly off our heads paying that much.

Raheem can get big till anywhere, certainly commensurate with his current wages.

As I say, we see it through the prism of City fans.

Raheem is in a strong position but knows pretty much everywhere else is a step down in terms of competing for trophies.

Sterling might think and is relax to sit on his current contract and leave when it’s up he will have two years left to ponder put feelers out also! Yep city might get an offer from PSG but Sterling can say no thanks!

Waspish. Fair shout. He is 27 later this year and I don’t think he will want to waste what should be one or even two of the best years of his career. He’s on a reported £300k per week which is obscene when set against his limp performances this season. if he wanted parity with Kev he needed to turn up more this year and show that he was worth it. I think he would suit PSG and if he wants to exit then fine for me. Cant see others taking a punt.

I was pleased to read Tolmie post that City are taking a sign up or look to leave stance. We are just too big now to be pissed around by players who don’t do it every week on the pitch.

The World Cup lost it's mojo a long time ago for me, but the Qatar tournament could be the final straw, the one that breaks the camels back....owch
