sterling and jesus need a move because they don't offer enough for pep at the level we want in champions league
then mendy ake or laporte could be moved on and aguero gone maybe fernandinho. so there is room for 4 or 5 new faces

Again, we only see it through certain eyes.

The next World Cup is likely to be Sterling's last?

I'd be surprised if he didn't make 2026 at 32. England aren't that talented and he's the only one of the current leadership group who'll be in contention to go.

I've thought for a while that Grealish would replace Bernardo Silva if it were to happen. You can't sell Sterling for Grealish because you lose so much pace up top.

I think Grealish has the ability to play as #8 or on the left hand side of our front three. Sterling is just not the guy who he replaces. The squad would be one paced.

It was not long ago that Sterling was ripping up the Champions League.

Jesus is not for me, like the lad very much, always gives his all, but there are times when he looks very ordinary, great squad player, but I would imagine he wants and needs to be playing regularly and to be the main man.

I don't think money is the issue. More a question what Raheem wants for himself in the next few years.

He can run his deal down to coincide with Pep perhaps leaving, win more trophies in the interim, yet wait for the market to improve when he will still be only 29?

All he has to do is sign. We just don't want to get stung.
2 years is a long time for a footballer to sit on the sidelines or play a bit part role.Call his bluff now and he might bite and sign. City will get financially screwed either way, so nothing to lose by putting him up for sale.

Agreed, unless we somehow utilised him for another top player?

As I said yesterday though, outside of Madrid and Barca, he's not leaving for anywhere better at present.
On this form sterling is deluded into thinking he can walk into a big club. The Spanish due are broke. Is there anyone from either team that would be open to a swap? Not seen us being linked with any of their star players.

Realistically who would want to or be in a position to buy him this season?

I keep reading Arsenal, wages maybe ok, but transfer fee lol and would be want to go there? or does he like Arteta and would be willing?

Five years is a long time mate.

We only have to see the emergence of Foden and Bellingham to see things can change very quickly in what comes on to the scene.

Yes but look at every world cup squad England ever send to a competition.

2018 - Ashley Young and Cahill were about 32/33.

2014 - Lampard and Gerrard were 34 and 35.

2010 - Heskey, Carragher.

There's always a couple of older heads who've been around for a decade. Out of the current group most will be long gone. Kane would be 33 but I'm convinced his ankle will be dust by then.

It's probably Stones and Sterling. They might not be starting, but they'll be around the set up because they'll have been to half a dozen tournaments.

Also Sterling's form for England recently is incredible. 12 goals and 10 assists in 16 games, its about 40% of Englands goals when he plays. Southgate trusts him, I think he's probably going to start the first game at the Euro's so I don't see him worrying about his England place.

Why Bernardo, Why not the older leggy Gundo?

I don't want the possibility of the Rodri,Gundo,Kevin midfield ever again. And i think this is one of the reasons Pep liked playing the false 9. It made up for it.

I just get confused with the seemingly opposite informations. Is almost done or is in consideration if one of our big names gets sold?

Always conflicting information out there, even from inside clubs.

The truth is usually always somewhere in between.

On this occasion, it is also coming from Grealish side.

If Jesus is the one to leave and Raheem stays, it still frees up a lot towards Grealish.

Raheem can also still play up top while Grealish can play wide left as a Sterling replacement, or as a number eight.

I think Gundogan is one of the most important players in the side at controlling the game. I think Bernardo has lots of energy, but doesn't put up very good numbers. I think he's also a guy they could get a similar fee to what Grealish would cost.
Bernardo would control the game better then Gundo if they gave him that freedom.

Houssem Aouar has to be considered, Lyon didn't secure a Champions League place and he is a sensational player!
