If Kane wasn’t for sale I think Levy would have made it absolutely clear and City would have distanced themselves from any rumours by now... in the absence of either scenario I’d suggest there’s a good chance this is on...
I respectfully disagree with this assessment. I think the fact spurs have somehow landed an elite manager in conte has changed things significantly. No one could have predicted conte leaving inter Milan so when Kane did his interview most assumeed it would be an underwhelming hire made by levy.

Knowing how competitive conte is there is no way he has taken this job unless the reported stories of spurs refusing to sell Kane are true. Why would conte be happy to walk away from a title winner to go to spurs who also won’t invest unless they sell their only world class player? It just doesn’t make sense. If levy tells conte he won’t sell then he does conte will walk before season starts. Again it doesn’t make sense.

Spurs have also taken out a new long term loan with favourable interest to pay off their short term loan with a bit extra left over. Their financial situation isn’t as desperate as made out on here. They also are still yet to sell stadium naming rights so that is another large chunk of income to come in. My gut says Kane stays for a year and then takes a decision after seeing what conte can do, he has said himself he has 7 years left at the top of his game so why the rush for him now spurs have a legitimate world class manager?

All this is so true. Added with Lukaku’s statement. Martinez set to sign a new deal at Inter. There’s really no one left on the market with Dortmund unwilling to sell also. Silva, Ings type category is all that’s left.

Levy can say what he wants. Debts need repaying

Conversely, as a businessman, albeit a businessman in absolute desperate need of many tens of £millions of fluid finance, he can’t say what he wants because the process of negotiation (and a need to keep Spurs supporters onside) forces him to have “Harry’s not for sale” as his mantra.
It doesn’t actually mean anything either one way or the other.
If a bid meets his trigger point for a sale, and if Kane can agree terms with the bidding club, then off he toddles . . with a slight limp due to his dodgy ankles ;-)

Everyone is available if you pay enough.

There is no point paying peanuts for the likes of Ings. Anyway, Khaldoon stated that we weren’t looking for squad fillers, we were signing one or two high quality players.

Wonder if just like when United signed Pogba 5 years back, Mino is now starting to make the proper moves to get him out of Dortmund, and we have positioned ourselves at the front of the cue.

Bernardo is an amazing footballer. Unless you're one of the FT minions that relies on stats than actually watching games you would definitely rate Grealish higher than Bernardo, when they aren't even remotely on the same level, or profile.

I think that they’re both amazing players, and I wouldn’t swap Bernardo for Grealish, but I don’t think it would be a swap because they’re actually very different players.
I want us to keep Bernardo but, regardless of whether Bernardo stays or goes, I want us to get Grealish.
From what I’ve seen he provides better penetration into the box than anyone we’ve got.
Steps between players packed along the line in a way that causes big problems to packed defences.
He has fast thought and fast feet, great in small spaces and moves so quickly that he gets the penetration or gets fouled. Which causes panick once he gets into the box, for obvious reasons.
No need to offer praise for Bernardo Silva in comparison because we all know what he brings to the game, but it’s different to what Jack Grealish brings to the game and maybe Pep wants that as a weapon in his armoury?

I can't see anyone being able to penetrate when they're up against 10 defenders, Messi aside and perhaps Phil next season.
