All joking aside, what’s yours and the other guy’s issue? Im just making the observation we haven’t even entertained the fact he’s leaving yet, which would be odd if we weren’t confident he’d renew.

What would be odd would be some kind of announcement from the club about arrangements for his departure while negotiations are continuing for him to stay.

Unbelievable player for us over the years I'd over fern a coaching role with maybe the option of taking over 1 of the youth teams but I see no point in keeping a player on the decline at 36 yrs of age on the books. We are in a position of strength this summer where other clubs are struggling let's replace him now instead of 12 months time start the next rephrase now

I reckon Stones will make a solid DM allowing a Dias-Laporte CB pairing. Sorry but Rodri isn't good enough as our DM, IMHO.

We've seen stones play as a DM and it definitely didn't work out. Hopefully we never see that again!

I think Bissouma from Brighton might be a player to look at to replace Fernandinho.

I love Fern..one of the best players over the years he has been with us..my concern is that any replacement usually takes a season to bed in.. you have to look beyond the love for a player at the end of their career and think of the future.. We have had this with Sergio, David, Yaya, Vincent, Zabba,over the last few seasons..that is harsh I know, but the powers that be will have already made these decisions, we can only speculate.We need a new legion of legends,and have Dias, Phil taking up the slack. More will follow for sure.

Keep John Stones where he is, great CB when his head is good, DM is a completely different reality week in week out.

Ferna is like a Rolls Royce - even when the engine has a few miles on it - it can still purr.
I think he has at least another year in him used sparingly ie not every 3 days. Its time to buy or break in his replacement and alternate whilst the newbie gets accustomed to the roll under Pep.
As to who that might be i'm not sure - i do know its not a kids job - no matter how talented - that is of course unless were looking at Bellingham. Cheeky bid for Philips at Leeds?

Seen a few names on here banded about as a replacement - first issue is HOW do you replace Ferna; one of the first on my team sheet even if he is 36.
I'd suggest for Kalvin Philips....................
