Let's face it Manchester must be horrible to some from the continent, its a depressing place at times.

It’s really not. If you have millions in the bank like these footballers do, Manchester (or Cheshire) is a great place to live.

Fair enough have a gripe about the weather especially if you come from a warmer climate but Manchester/Cheshire is a great place to live.

But on the topic of Bernard, if it's a choice between him and Grealish then it's a no brainer, it's been emotional Bernardo.

Nowhere is shit if you are a millionaire but whilstManchester has great areas to live you can understand why a player, especially a foreigner, might prefer to live in say Paris, Madrid, Barcelona etc? Manchester can’t compete with those cities. however, I very much doubt Bernardo is unsettled because Manchester doesn’t have enough culture or Michelin starred restaurants, I imagine it’s something more personal.

Can't compete for what though? What do those cities have that Manchester doesn't? Bearing in mind can't really say the landmarks as we're talking about living and not visiting.

If Bernardo wanted to go to Paris, when he see's the eiffel tower a few times and visits the Lourve for the second time, what else does Paris have to offer?

Genuinely interested.

Better restaurants, more museums, more diverse nightlife, more beautiful people, and far more beautiful buildings. I mean I could just walk around the streets of Paris soaking in the streets and it’s charming.

I’m a Mancunian mate and love Manchester because it’s my home but I mean do you really think Manchester competes with the capital France?

For a footballer though? Better restaurants possibly but there's many great places to go in Manchester/Cheshire. I don't think many are interested in museums and more diverse nightlife won't apply as their profession means they should not be experiencing the nightlife.

I'm not saying it competes for the average Joe, i love Paris to visit, been four times myself (although each time i have seen a decline in the city) but for a footballer, the majority of things you have mentioned don't really apply to them.

It's the weather that is the difference but even then Paris to not that much different to the UK.

The restaurants in Manchester are alright but nothing compared to Paris, London, Tokyo, Madrid etc. Generally capital cities cater for the rich very well.

For footballers they’d love/enjoy going to fashion catwalks, gigs, high end casinos I’d imagine. I don’t know this world but I would assume Paris is a bit more happening in the high end of society than Manchester mate.

Anyway, as I said in my previous post, I very much doubt this is the true reason for Bernardo wanting out.

He lived pandemic by playing football and collecting millions.

Very tough.... like I said another thread. Hes another soft arse.

Atletico needs to stump up the cash like we would have to. Its really that simple.

Being stuck in a foreign country away from friends and family is fucking tough regardless of how much money you're on.

It's bad enough being a prisoner on this island and having to deal with our government's bullshit when you're born and bred in Manchester. I wouldn't blame Bernie one bit for not wanting to spend the best years of his life here, sadly.

PS I love Manchester but do aspire to move somewhere sunnier one day when circumstances allow.

I assume he did geography at school and should have come to the conclusion we don't play our home games on Bondi Beach with the tranquil views of Yosemite National Park in the background.
Sane and Eric Garcia claimed they wanted to go back to their homeland.
Bernardo is cribbing about having to wear a duffel coat when he is outdoor dining.
OK Joe you seem to know the ins and outs of Bernardos brain so can you show me where you get your info from?
