Bit like watching City against mainly long ball teams.
Sterling getting on ball wide, to little effect, but Foden playing further inside to greater effect.
The runs from Foden, Phillips & Mount not being capitalized on.
Scotland playing very compact on defence, but if we can bring someone on into the inside left position (Grealish?) to attack McTominay, I think we will see a few more chances.
The breaking midfielder, or winger cutting in from wide, for the ball over the top has been the most exciting opportunity so far.
Overall, we look solid at the back, overrun in midfield, and very lightweight upfront.
Kane has been anonymous, Mount ineffective, Phillips all over the place but his runs are being missed by such a slow build up, and the Scots collapsing defence is blunting England’s slow build up.
If Stones had put that header in, the game would have looked very different.
Scotland looking like a dead ball team atm. Other than that, if they are going to get some joy from anywhere else, it’ll be their left side, our right.
COME ON ENGLAND!!!
P.S. Absolutely ridiculous that Wembley has been restricted to 20,000 fans! Joke!
