I don’t think England fans ever need a reality check. We’ve seen far better England sides than this do absolutely nothing, our expectations are as realistic as it gets.

We might get excited because tournaments are exciting but realistically we look at France and Portugal and see we are fucking miles away from that level.

In this case you have to to look at the sum of the parts and decide if the whole is good enough to do well.

Struggling to accept your point that was the best team we could have played?

He’s played 2 defensive midfielders from Leeds and West Ham. Bellingham might be 17/18 but he’s already playing at a higher level than them two. Sancho has played better than Sterling this season too.

Reminded me of many a City game but with no Kev/Silva/Aguero/(and dare I say it) FFS quality in their third. Not read through so maybe a laboured point already.

Thought the Scots had a plan and it worked , they knew Southgate would bottle it , play two defensive midfielders and just try to avoid defeat , unfortunately the pride and passion of the Scottish team will not be at the same level against Croatia and they will as you say , get battered.

He’s played Foden out of position two games running, and takes him off despite being the best player in the pitch even though he was out of position.
