For Scotland it was a free hit game. Nobody expected anything other than a loss, keeping the score down was the best they could hope for. Well that was according to most pundits and some giddy fans on here. I mentioned before the game it would be tough and so it proved. They will always raise their game against England. I watched their game against the Czechs and only poor finishing, a good header and a one off worldie beat them. They actually played very well.

Football is often about small margins and some luck. If Stones header goes in I think we might have won fairly comfortably. Indeed Mount also should have done better with his chance, that would have been 2-0 in the first 20 minutes and probably game over. It wasn't, Scotland rallied and thoroughly deserved their point.

Sorry but so does that England team and a more than 1/4 of tonights team were from the English Champions in case you hadn't noticed, while Scotland had a number of Scottish "journeymen" (ie in Scotland) in their team.

My point was, a good chunk of both sides weren't dissimilar in quality, they actually had better players than us in some positions. It wasn’t like City playing a Champions League minnow or a lower division club playing City in the Cup, because that’s what it’s being made out to be.

That’s why I think Scotland fans should be very disappointed with last night’s result (and performance). England were there for the taking. When a team is there for the taking and you have players who should take advantage of that, it’s nothing to celebrate when you draw 0-0.

The problem we have now is the one of Kane. Do we persist in him knowing that he still has goals in him or start with Rashford who has been pretty shit all last season for the rags?. The choices up front are really shit for a national side, oh just remembered Calvert-Lewin, is he worth a punt?

“If you can’t win the match you need to make sure you don’t lose.”

So Gareth, at what point in that match did you decide we were too shit to actually try to beat the 3rd lowest ranked team in the tournament? Why do we have to have the mentality that we can’t win the match just because it’s 0-0 in the second half? Why can’t we make changes that actually enhance our chances of winning? League Two manager, sack him now.

Very poor game for England last night, but very well played Scotland. They fully deserved a point.

Let's be honest, we all knew the game was going to be hard when we saw the line up. We didn't need 2 DMs at all and by HT is was clear we needed players who could put their foot on the ball.

If we don't see Foden, Mount and Grealish on the pitch against Scotland, when will we? Foden for Grealish was ludicrous. Whilst I rate Kane, the lad needs service and he didn't get any. He could've dropped into midfield to get the ball like he does for Spurs sometimes. He hasn't done that at all now for 2 games so it's a tactical decision. Why Raahford -who I rate- would somehow get a goal from the same lack of service Kane had is beyond me.

I don't mind draws etc, they will happen. However, I couldn't see what we were trying to do. The team had no shape, was stretched from front to back and just thought passing it would win the game. It was clear after 30 minutes we needed a change but it never came.

The only thing I can think of is maybe Southgate wanted the players not to go full tilt to give them a bit of a rest.

Given the players we have available, I'm sure England are capable of better performances than we saw last night.

Walker can revert to his old Spurs tactics and overlap (he used to be seen as a very good attacking full back) and Tripper can hold back in defence with Henderson holding in midfield. Calvert-Lewin is so much more mobile than Kane (I’m yet to be impressed with Kane without Son next to him).

This way we’d have 6 attacking options instead of 4 like we’ve had in the first two games.

Yes, indeed, Sancho and Bellingham would be at the front of the queue for subs and with that you can change the formation somewhat.

Why is Lingard not there after the season he’s had? He was sat watching the game in Alty with me.

The way the Scots are carrying on,i think had they won they would have dismantled Wembley Brick,by Brick, and took the Stadium home. :-)

Foden has been the most creative player in both games but still got whipped twice.

Slabhead needs to start the next game, As shit as he is he's alot better than Mings. At least he will get his foot on the ball on carry the ball up the field along with breaking lines with passes (or at least they to). Mings is garbage.

Henderson, the epitome of an overhyped player, I hate that twat at the same level as Robertson. Lingard had a few good games for West Ham but was pretty anonymous in the games where the Hammers failed to win towards the end of the season, he's pretty shit overall.
